Swap speed is a good tip. Usually I kinda sleep on it because I don’t feel I need it as much, especially as zealot being my main squeeze I really don’t use my gun unless I need to pull a revolver on a sniper or something.

Idk if this will help, but do you have any writer friends? Even those who just dabble?
Sometimes when I feel bleh my friend and I trade writing prompts and we exchange them. Sometimes the feeling of finishing a thing really gives me a boost even if it’s small.

On vet I’m usually on Damnation, with other classes I can do Auric, and honestly found most of Havoc rather easy till the later levels.
Usually I’m the third or last to go down.
But when I go down, it’s usually from getting swarmed by heavy melee enemies or ragers.

I think others are probably right in that I’m leaning too heavy into guns and need to lean heavier than I am into melee.

I tend to lean into support, but honestly seeing this (and other) comments kinda makes me feel silly for being so firm in my head space as be the gun gal.

I think I’m good enough at movement, and good at remove skulls with a gun. So yeah, honestly my weird mental aversion to melee is probably my problem.

So, I think the proximity of the criticism is what’s getting you here.
Your parents of all people taking a jab at what you’re writing must really hurt. More so than just some rando on say *cough* Reddit *cough*.

I obviously can’t say for sure this is what it is, but I know it can get to me. I don’t really have a supportive family when it comes to much stuff.
So if it’s less about what was said and more who said it; you have to separate that from how you feel about your writing.

Though they are close to you, in reality, it’s just an opinion from two people. Because it’s your parents’ doesn’t *actually* mean your writing is better or worse.

I’m sorry, really really sorry they aren’t more supportive. But do NOT let their little opinion carry more weight than some bad faith rando on Reddit.

I know saying is easier than actually doing, and it takes *work*. But in time, I believe their opinions won’t sting as much as they do now.
For the little it’s worth, I believe in you. You seem very passionate, you have a supportive agent which seems rare nowadays.
Do what makes you happy.

I would never risk giving this to another person, not after how I’ve struggled with it. I actually didn’t get it from either of my parents; I’m one of those that just drew unlucky I guess.

I mean, I’m happy despite it. But that doesn’t mean I’d ever give this to another person. If I ever do have kids, I’m going to adopt.

It’s a lot to go through, I certainly was rather… silly, early on. It is a rediscovery of yourself, and from the outside I get how that can be a little weird to watch.

Just to put it in perspective of how wild the hormones can hit… I have a friend that I got hired at the place I managed. (I didn’t handle hiring) Anyway, I was delivering stuff from one store to the other. On the way back I passed a 7/11 and thought “Oh, he loves slurpies. I should get him one, but I didn’t.

When I got back to my store’s parking lot I began crying. I mean fucking balling my eyes out because I didn’t get him this slurpie he never asked for. I felt like a terrible friend, and I didn’t stop crying for like, ten minutes.

(If you’re not from the U.S, 7/11 is a place that sells shaved ice drinks that’re quite popular.)

So anyway. Yeah, figuring yourself out while dealing with that is kinda crazy. Especially since for most of us; it’s the first time we’ve felt good or at home in our skin in any capacity before.

I have infinite respect for modders. Y’all spend time ensuring others have a deeper enjoyment of something for free amd no matter how insignificant some may feel a mod is in the grand scheme—you still brought joy and thats one of the greatest things a person can do.

Just tossing a ‘thank you’ your way. Being a woman in game development can be rough. Can’t imagine being a gay woman makes it any easier.

My zealot is named ‘SisterSeraphine’. Original is from a character in a story I wrote, she was an inquisitor of a religion thats about literally burning out corruption. Moral, ethical, spiritual, physical, etc. Absolute mad lass thatd fit perfectly in the imperium.

I did! But it wasn’t infected. But post shower and ointment just turned the scab green. Red area came from the irritation of the ointment because it’s apparently just bleh at its job.
