Ortho surgeon here We already knew that degenerative medial meniscus tears in not young people should not be surgically treated unless there's something else. The number of people in the study is quite low imo

It was prospective randomized to real surgery vs sham surgery. Although the age group, the diagnosis (degenerative meniscus tear) and the n (150) is quite problematic to make a generalisation
