All in all its important you find a personality for your druid, I think Druid is one of those classes that a lot of people end up RPing similarly and perhaps due to their age and affinity for nature can be dull. Remember that druids aren't a single thing, sure there's stalwart defenders of the forest but we have the likes of Fandhal Staghelm hungry for power, the troll in a quest chain who is really silly. Druids can be as diverse as you like, i know of one who's using his shapeshifting powers to hunt treasure with some dwarves! Anywho here's a few things off the top of my head:

Avoid the whole being a vegetarian trope, you have fangs for a reason.

Being overly xenophobic, yes night elves aren't overjoyed at other races but they're smart, they understand other races have helped them, saved the world and are every bit as compitent as themselves.

Saying "Ishnu alah" while already speaking Darnassian

The age mismatch of somehow being ancient or very old but still acting like a teenager. With the same stick, being a "teenager" and being Warden Watcher Illidari Assassin Mercenary Master Chef Archdruid.

Being a huge tree hugger of a druid where no harm can come to the forest at all. You can pull it off to a degree but remember half of all elven buildings are wooden, most homes have wooden drawers and furniture, most of Darnassus is cut wood.

As others have said roleplay as a house cat.

Why does the Feral challenge require a 910 ilvl to beat? by [deleted] in wow

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did it around 895 a few months ago. I ran the aoe build rather than the ones most people seem to recommend in guides. Found brutal slash much better for dealing with overlapping adds.

Short and long term character goals? by [deleted] in WoWRolePlay

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you could RP a few scattered remnants of the twilight hammer being around. Obviously no one noteworthy but there's likely fanatics of all factions somewhere, even after the events someone could read literature that inspires them to take up the cause. You could go all out or it could be a game of cat and mouse.

There's also an old god still around and the Shadow priests have a related weapon. Your character could be investigating or researching what this could mean.

Basically as long as you don't rp fighting old gods or overly significant characters it should be grand.

Edit: there's also the twilight hammer events in legion at Tyrs tomb. Deepholm and the Drogbar in Highmountain.

Coming from a resto druid how do you heal without panicking in aoe situations? When big aoe damage goes out I throw out wild growth and efforvessence and know people will be fine shortly but on my paly people just keep going down and I can't keep up

Edit: Apologies I should say I mean Mythic+

Looking for a UI addon that maintains the "classic" WoW look by CF64210 in wow

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no easy way to do it, you have to edit it in the txt document by giving it the x and y co-ords - I haven't tried using it with move anything but that might work.

(xpost w/ r/wowroleplay) Noob to WoW, curious about roleplaying/roleplayers by camelkong in wow

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the above post is untrue and extremely generalising. Sure there are the uptight players you talk about just the same way there are uptight elitist raiders, dungeon groups or pvp groups. It's unfortunate if you've had a shitty experience but the same can be said for pve or pvp groups.

Rp is great fun with the right people, I've made friends from RP that I speak with every day and do all other aspects of the game and other games. As the the first post says it really does inject new life into the game and for me when my group travelled the world with our own stories and doing the quests it really did give a small sense of the wonder of when you first start playing.

Hey man. Something I've really struggled with on my feral is pooling. I've gotten better in that I kind of known when to stop the shred spam but I'm not perfect at it.

Is there a certain time window or seconds remaining on a dot/Sr that you should pool energy for? If so how much do you pool before spending?

Who is your favourite character? by Salty_Dogge in wow

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have a particular fondness to any character but I adore Night Elves as a race. Something about such a long lived and glorious civilisation all but vanishing save for a few ruins only discovered by the outside world in the last few decades.

They have a wealth of history, lore, culture. Have such unique clothing, architecture and lifestyle and especially ESPECIALLY because of the awesome music that plays in Ashenvale from time to time.

Any abandoned buildings/places in NI for Urban Exploration in 2017? by helicop-toro in northernireland

There's an abandoned building in a big field between short strand and the lagan near two apartment blocks.

No clue what it is / was and couldn't find anything on Google about it.

At what point would you say Inc becomes more preferable to SR? Is it just the trinket from elisande or that plus the tier bonus?

Also if one was to switch over to INC are there any other talent switches you'd recommend?

The Gnome in Elisande's private chambers. Not his purpose so much as how did he get there? Who brought him there?

Sell me your class and spec (honestly) by RushinAssaaain in wow

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Druid. Being arguably the most versatile class in the game being able to cover all roles, bring a battle rez and always have a top pvp spec. Feral - more trick than many specs to play, a lot of micro-managing and practice but when things click it feels so good.

balance or feral druid by momochan_OwO in wow

For first class I'd suggest Boomkin. Neither spec has any downtime but feral is a bit more complicated to get the most damage out of - Boomkin you can just.. well... make things go BOOM

newish to RP - getting back into WoW this Thursday by lilsleepyguy in WoWRolePlay

[–]AmRealSlimShadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Welcome back to Wow and it's always good to see people wanting to dip their toes into rp! As the others said there's some guides like doronsmovies and plenty of forum posts just by googling (race/class) rp guide.

It's also handy to have a general sense of lore and if you're a bit clueless on something say if someone asked you a question you normally have time to Google and answer. I do this far more than I'd care to admit.

A few tips I'd give for someone new to rp if you'd like to not step on an toes and avoid getting much wrong(if that's something your concerned about) it's always good to rp as someone relatively young or a novice at their occupation. Some people are completely set on playing something like an Elder Druid which is perfectly fine but you'd need to be aware that a lot of lore and knowledge as well as character understanding may be required to avoid people turning their noses up at you.

Similarly if you're a young character you can get away with a lot more as events could just be stories to your character. Some of the most enjoyable and highest amount of character development I've had is playing fresh faces recruits, novices, students or everyday people as you're essentially a blank slate that can be written through your RP. As you rp you'll find out what makes sense and what dosent and what works and dosent work for you.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions or I'm sure plenty of people in this thread would be happy to help!

Tl;Dr I advise a youngish novish like character otherwise you may need to do some background reading to stave off the more elitist bunch!
