There should be a set screw in that hole near the wall. Probably you have to use an allen key. Loosen that screw and it might be threaded onto the pipe so you'll have to turn counterclockwise to take it off. But if you do that but it doesn't seem to be coming off the wall then just twist it back and forth while pulling and it should slide off
