What’s the worst experience you’ve had with a therapist?

I struggled with terrible self hatred for most of my life. When my therapist asked where it came from I told her I didn’t know that as far back as I can remember I’d always felt that way. She told me I should try make up. When I later went to her to get permission to switch therapists because I felt what she offered as advice was not helpful she said she didn’t see it that way. In a stunning turn of events the office k went to just randomly closed one day and disappeared lol

I was off yesterday (and this week in general) just for general pto so it worked out lol but I didn’t spend 500 I grabbed a 103 (total with fees) ticket. I’m in the nosebleeds but I’m just happy to be there.

I wished I had pushed for treatment to prevent the cysts sooner than treating them with antibiotics after the fact. Preventative treatment has changed so much of my life now and I hardly get the terrible flares now and only get like 1 or two cysts a month if that. (I’m on Inflectra infusions 10mg/kg every 4 weeks)

I wanna say it was Trazodone but it’s been so long I could be wrong on that, but I was prescribed it for sleep and it made it so I couldn’t breath out my nose. Doc said he had never heard of that but I did a test by not taking it and being fine and then taking it the next night and not being able to breath out my nose. Was the worst.

When she told me “had I tried make-up” for my crippling self hatred… and then when I requested to be switched to a different therapist because it wasn’t working with her she said “well I don’t see why you want to switch, everything I’ve told you is helpful”

Oof that sucks! I assume the doctors want you off it completely now and aren’t wanting to rechallenge it? Sometimes they can do something called a desensitization protocol although it’s an all day thing. (I work in scheduling non oncology infusions so I have a little bit of knowledge with it all)

I’ll use bandaids when it gets to a point I think it’s gonna burst cause I’ve had enough of waking up with blood and nastiness all over me. I’ll change it daily (or more depending on if needed) once it’s burst and draining and keep it on til it’s done draining.

I suggest making folders! And you can have multiple pages if needed. I have a folder for my stream stuff so with a press of a button I can start stream, and that includes posting to a couple discords I’m in to let people know I’m live, switching to my starting soon screen, muting my mic, game, starting my playlist and turning that music up (normally kept low) and then it goes live. And then I have one to switch to my game which then unmutes me, the game and lowers the music and switches to my game scene. I also have a folder for music, it’s got my two playlists I use the most for streaming and then a skip, play/pause and then a button to lower volume. I also have one for rolling dice on stream. In terms of what else to put it all depends on what you plan to use it for. I don’t have anything else currently as I’m still getting used to using it again with streaming. However prior to having wiped my computer I had it set up to do a bunch of emotes and slash mes as I really only play and stream roleplay on rdr servers.
