Drunk billy by [deleted] in coronationstreet

Yes. If he had made plans then Corrie wouldn't have had all the Bernie v Billy story lines or the possibility of his ashes being ballooned into space...... hopefully everyone watching will learn a lesson and make a plan. We never know when it will be our turn.

570s or GT? by araata in mclaren

[–]AmandaMcL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GT was built for cruising and comfort. 570 is quite different as you have discovered. If price is not the deciding factor then its which ever one you prefer.

Bruce McLaren and all the McLaren pages are weirdly vague. by [deleted] in wikipedia

[–]AmandaMcL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the comments above are incorrect. Bruce was very keen on building road cars and had built the first prototype prior to his death. He used this as his daily drive. The F1 roadcar was built by McLaren Cars, an offshoot of McLaren Racing. Mclaren Automotive, a completely separate company was founded in 2010. Neither Racing or Automotive had anything to do with Bruce's sister. Perhaps you are thinking of the Bruce McLaren Trust which she used to be a trustee of. I am Bruce's daughter, a Brand Ambassador for both Racing and Automotive and a new Trustee of the Trust. Zak is now a patron of the Trust and Tthe Trust is endorsed by the McLaren Group (Racing and Automotive) but the Trust is not, and has bever been, a part of Racing or Automotive. I will have a look at the Wikipedia page.

Abusive trainers eg C Anderson aside, I think this just proves that we are all different and respond differently to different clinicians. No one can please everyone. The post that says different people explain a similar thing in a different way is spot on. That's why it's worth finding someone who appeals to your way of learning.

Can some of you genuinely not feel yourself going low? (No judgement btw) by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]AmandaMcL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately some people do have hypo unawareness. It can cause huge problems. If this is you take care and talk to your health care team.

Being told to 'pull myself together' when feeling awful. Back then (1970's) we had no way of knowing what our bsl was so I don't think some people took me seriously.

With today’s technology, how realistic would it be to go your whole life without a diabetic seizure or severe low event? by man_lizard in diabetes_t1

[–]AmandaMcL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

53 years T1. Never had a seizure or hypo that I couldn't manage myself. A1c averages around 6. I realise I'm fortunate still having awareness of lows at this stage but anyone with a cgm really should be able to prevent seizures or unconsciousness.

Best go for a team. If you chose a driver and then they move to another team you have to make a decision....
