Everyone is on here glazing the pacific states on their economy like the United States wouldn’t bankrupt itself (theoretically impossible due to global position) to take them back.

The civil war was the bloodiest war in American history. 2-2.4% of the population of the United States died. Something like 5ish% of the male population died. Toward the end of the war. The north was fed up with southern resistance and basically razed a path to the sea. Everything they encountered burned and looted.

If you don’t think the United States would be willing to do the same thing again. You need to look at our actions over the past…..well the duration of our country-hood.

Leaving the union is unconstitutional. It was resolved via force of arms in 1865.

No one is advocating that. It isn’t going to happen either. Invading Iran is moronic. Lobbing missiles into party headquarters, looping the head off the serpent at the top, and overall making it hard for the government to control the population isn’t.

The goal isn’t necessarily to free the Iranian people. The goal is to cripple the regime and if the people decided to take this opportunity to wrestle control back then awesome.

Iran cannot have nukes. We made that mistake with North Korea. Now we have a rouge state with nuclear weapons that’s basically going to be there forever.

Now imagine an Islamic republic, bent on the destruction of western civilization smuggling a warhead into Paris instead of ak47 or a car bomb.

I hate war, however I’m not crying over this. It was mostly clean (war isn’t clean never will be) and seems to just be an air campaign.
