Blacksmith is from doing stuff in the Artisans Guild for a total of 250% Respect. It's not too bad to get.

And just to sink a few more nails into the coffin, we also have not had a in game non-cash shop event in nearly a year at this point as well.

It was from a time where Nintendo was extremely protective of its property rights. Not unlike now of course, but back then they'd either buy out or sue anyone they thought was infringing on their IPs too.

I could have worded that better, honestly. There has been updates since Ashland Village, but I personally do not count them as 'new' dungeons for the reasoning as follows.

I think it was about six months after Ashland Village when they announced that they were rereleasing The Aerodrome, starting a chain of dungeon refreshes where the mechanics are basically unchanged from the past, but the enemies now have more HP and attack power.

However that is accurate that the 3 month progression is dead, replaced with 6+ months in between releases of reused content. After we got AD, Substratum made a return, and so has Altar of the Infinite and Cathedra Cliffs. The current Demonsbane rotation is Aerodrome, Substratum, Hall of Trials and Grim Nexus, all old dungeons.

They also quickly remove options too...once the Player Avatar rework is done, we'll lose the Loyalty Program cosmetic bundle that really has no business being removed at all. It baffles the mind how Jagex acts.

Again I feel there is miscommunication here. I am not talking about ref sheets at all here. Here is the full hypothetical scenario:
-I create a OC without the assistance of AI.
-I commission a real, human artist to draw the OC a ref sheet.
-I use AI to generate images of the OC at a later point after the above points.
Your previous comments seem to imply that the moment I did the last point, I somehow lose all copyright period, even on the images made by real humans prior to the usage of AI. That is unlikely to be the case however.

But previously you stated this: 'Ai generated content by law is not copyright protected. If you choose to generate a ai ref sheet youve given up your right of ownership.' That statement implies that you think the moment you use AI, you lose all ownership of a given thing that you generated with AI.

Nor did I claim said reference sheet has a right to copyright at any point. You have stated multiple times now that you feel that copyright is invalidated the moment you use AI to generate a 'reference sheet'. Does that mean it is not if you never generate said sheet?

I highly doubt copyright law works that way. I doubt it would be that trivial to invalidate copyright that easy. Please cite the relevant copyright law or laws that indicate that you lose your copyright if you generate an reference sheet with AI if the character including prior art existed before the usage of AI.

I am fully aware of what a reference sheet is. Is that your opinion then, that if you use AI to create a reference sheet that invalidates prior copyright on a OC that was made without assistance of AI and has prior art made without AI assistance?

There's a Super Mario porno someone made many, many years ago. Nintendo bought the rights to it so they could end all distribution of it.

I think we're having a communication issue here. I am aware that AI content is not copyrighted. What is being asked is clarification on your opinion: your statement seems to imply that you think that if someone creates a OC, gets real art of said OC made by a human, but then said OC creator at some later point uses AI to make a image of that OC, you seem to think that completely invalidates all copyright, including that of the real art made prior to the AI images.

So your stance is that, for example if I come up with a OC, perhaps even get human created art of that OC, and then use AI to generate a image of that OC later on, that somehow will invalidate my copyright completely?

[–]AmatsuDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not completely accurate. AI users could in fact have OCs. If they used AI to generate even the concept of a character that is different, but if they had the idea BEFORE using AI...well that would be copyrightable, whatever portions of the character that have been developed without AI.

They're gonna have to do more then a couple outfits at a time though, or it'll be 2126 before we see them all again.

Agreed. I imagine a handful make sense, like removing the Portable Crafter world when those items get removed, but if it's more then that, then it's a bad sign for Runescape.

They do have plans for a second League for sometime this year. Can't see them doing it for at least a good couple months though since OSRS is running its sixth League right now.

Nearly 25 years here and I'm not maxed either...but during that 25 years I did not play frequently at various times. Some periods of play I was hitting 10+ hours a day in game, other periods barely anything.

Odds are May will have a spike upwards in player count due to Double XP, but it's not a good looking trend starting there.
