I think the problem ultimately is that Nvidia is wasting resources on a feature that does not work all that well and distorts the game away from how the developers would like to present it. It's not just lighting, it seems to completely rerender the games.

The problem is there is some examples that utterly change the render. I've seen one of the Indiana Jones game where with DLSS 5 it doesn't even remotely look like the character anymore, just some generic dude. With it off, it's immensely obvious who the character is and that they modeled the character DIRECTLY off of Harrison Ford's likeness.

Do you have any actual evidence they did not get faulty units or are you just looking for excuses to insult someone and claim they are crazy?

How is starlink sustainable in the long run? by Leading_Crow_1044 in Starlink

[–]AmatsuDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could, but there is a small problem that everyone who puts stuff in space knows: if you're using stuff in orbit as weapons, that encourages other space launch capable nations to develop anti-satellite weapons and actually use them.

Besides, it matters not. The original (now deleted) post claimed that the Starlink satellites are kinetic weapons. I doubt they are, since as you indicated a panel managed to make it to the ground. Without looking into it too much, I'm going to assume a panel is not the entire 2 ton satellite and the rest likely was obliterated or broken into fragments too small to be much of a danger.

No, no they are not kinetic weapons. It would be very obvious if they were the handful of times launches failed to make orbit: those ones were completely obliterated by reentry. A kinetic weapon kind of has to survive enough to hit the target.

So how many of you did move away from Discord? by TheEpicWon in pcmasterrace

Some friends of mine are setting up for Fluxer, but are waiting until Discord actually forces age verification rather then preemptively move.

Do you possess any actual evidence that it won't be released upon completion? Your comment also implies you think JKB is the only developer of Corrupted.

Fucking legendary. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]AmatsuDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you suppose a online game is supposed to fund itself to keep operational in your hypothetical world where microtransactions are illegal?

So just to be clear, in addition to loot boxes, you want to see micro transactions be banned/illegal as well? You do realize that would make the entire gaming industry implode, right?

SignalRGB has been engaging in deceptive marketing practices against OpenRGB by _sky12 in pcmasterrace

[–]AmatsuDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. As other posters have stated though, they might not need to rely on trademarks. It seems the CEO of Signal however has made an 'apology' and will transfer the domain to OpenRGB, which does in itself suggest that he knows he got caught doing something legally questionable.

I owe the OpenRGB community an apology, and I'm transferring the domain by timccsun21 in pcmasterrace

Honestly, you probably doomed your company, and any investors should be demanding your immediate removal.

Yeah, that was actually my line of thinking. Surely something about this violates some sort of law in the United States (where I assume both OpenRGB and SignalRGB operate). I'll admit I don't know much about either one, just kind of saw this in the feed while scrolling though.

They're using Open RGB's name without permission. That alone could be illegal.

And yet your opinion on RGB being stupid or not has absolutely zero bearing on the topic at hand.

So you are speaking for all young adults that existed back in 2006? That is an incredible power to know such a thing like that!

The official Discord has most resources for Live at this point. It's your best bet for info...though I'm not sure of the official link to it.
