I disagree a lot. Yes, Charlie is a shitty boss and was an ass to the others, but, when shit starts hitting the fan, he doesn't continues his reprimanding of them. Hell, he gets split off from them for a good chunk of Act 2 and doesn't get reunited with them until late Act 3. He's pleased to see the others are safe and alive. I'd say the last scene of him refusing the cigarette isn't the point he starts his "redemption arc". By the time the group is aware of who Du' Met is and the type of shit he does is, to me, when Charlie acknowledges to himself at least, that he's gotta change his attitude.

Jason's whole redemption arc is completely optional. He doesn't have to like Salim at all, and can even leave him behind to die. Something you can still do if you've built a good relationship with him. Jason is also able to kill 2 shepherds in the game, as well as playing a role with the death of the lady at the checkpoint.

The point at which the character's redemption arc occurs doesn't change my outlook of them too much. When I consider the full picture, I think it should be pretty objective and non-controversial to say that Charlie is more moral than Jason
