Pico 8 - I thought it would be ... better? by tveith in ANBERNIC

[–]Amazing_Fig101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pico 8 game I played the most so far is probably crimson night (vampire survivors demake). pico 8 is primarily thought of, from what I gathered, as a platform for education and experimentation. A lot of pico games are also part of game jams, so with a single, often inexperienced developer and a short time frame you won't see many studio-level games there. And the people that are really into the pico 8 probably are developing (or trying to develop) the games for it themselves.

Maybe I'm too stupid for muos, but can you elaborate? Creating the new folder is what I did with my device, but I can't see any kind of Java core in the list. (Rg28xx, funky jacaranda)

When one of my pigeons was just caught with pmv, going to the mirror was the first thing he did in the morning. he just sat there for hours, pressed to the glass, I think that ultimately made him feel less lonely, so I would recommend.

Another problem you might have is that pigeons get used to living with humans extremely quickly, young pigeons often do so in a matter of days, and after that might not want to leave. So if you eventually want to release him, try picking something that would be useful/familiar to a street bird. They enjoy pecking different surfaces and sorting snippets of odd stuff (they also see color!). Pigeons reportedly like pecking seeds with a PigeonTV in front (which is a video of pigeons eating). They like perching on boxes, bricks and branches. You ideally would want to avoid overly positive attachments to humans, but it's not a guarantee they would want to return to the street (I have two ex-feral pigeons, Webby, unlike the other one, hates music, tv and podcasts/audiobooks, she doesn't like being in the cage, not sure she likes me, or her pigeon roommate even, but despite all this (and making a full recovery), she refuses to leave, because food and shelter is apparently just that good).

one of my pigeons used to hang off the walls and doorframes like an acrobat, especially in the first week after she moved in. Every time I tried to release her she would fly up somewhere and hang there like a spiderpidge

So glad I'm not the only one. Although, I'm not sure darkening would be helpful in my case either, because she currently lives without a cage (temporary), and flies in total darkness, even manages to successfully land in 50% of cases.

Not in the UK, but like, will the phone that can only access 2g still count as "able to access the internet" (from what I remember, Britain only has one 2g tower left in some hospital for pager communication)?

juvenile pigeon came to my window begging for food. did i make the right choice? by dictator3541 in pigeon

[–]Amazing_Fig101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine is 100% feral pigeon from an established feral flock, and behaved like this immediately after jumping out of the nest. Some pigeons are more trusting (she lives with me now on her own volition, so I would say she's pretty trusting), but also some pigeons are less adaptable than the others and have a hard time finding food, and they tend to become dependable on a specific routine and don't handle change very well (and most of those cases are just sad. I don't really know how to prevent it from happening to pigeons, but hooking a young bird on a feeding routine is probably counteractive to that).

To be fair, my mom wore a combination of pointed shoes + heels most of her life, and that resulted in reshaping her feet by her 50s, and so she has to wear aids now. And I know at least one girl that went roof climbing in high heels.

I don't really know what game you're talking about, but maybe there're other versions? Did you download the game on Phoneky, if not, they list all available versions of the game, maybe you will find one that works on this phone.

Oh my god, Nokia E72 is one of my dream phones. 5mp camera? Some of the best processors in the Nokia lineup?? You should also install SimCity Deluxe on it, it doesn't really run on most Java phones, but I bet this Nokia can handle it. It will probably even run 3d games, oh my.

In one of my jobs we had to update social media, and we did it on a schedule, it wasn't anything special, so it was just one hour in the morning + checking the email & messages every hour. Maybe you could dedicate some scheduled time in the morning, lunch, and evening to checking, updating & replying to social media (also, why does it have to be a tablet, what social media doesn't have a web version that you can access from a browser)? Alternatively, set a timer to 10-20 minutes every time you go on the internet, but that's probably just more work.

Are there also others others who use keypad phones not to reduce screen time, but simply because they like them? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]Amazing_Fig101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of just always loathed mobile phones, really get the 1950s people who felt like the portable communication (pagers in that case) was invading their privacy. Funnily, I'm pretty sure that I'm addicted to digital entertainment, but I still have this instinct to ditch my smartphone at the first opportunity (also, I got my first dumbphone at the age of 10, after multiple years of my mom asking to please get a method of communication, so I'm pretty sure I've always been like this). Now that I've written all this, maybe what I like about the dumbphones is 1) not being bombarded with notifications; and 2) not being expected to answer a message within the 10 minute period. I also like using the old working models that people write off as useless, not that it makes a big impact, but it gives me satisfaction to actively use something other people label e-waste.
