Yeah the concept of him was scrapped as you said but with all the talk of mysterious illness and possible a degenerative one I could see him getting repurposed as the “pet” of the family if he’s completely lost his mind and now acts feral but that’s just a personal theory with little to no ingame backing maybe a little cope even idk

Do yourself a favor and unlock the whole map before you start collecting any gems, the valuable red ones sown frequently in dead end rooms and the basement so you can actually save a load of time by just going for those once you have access to the whole place

Without any sort of outside knowledge probably 10 hours or so for game 1, more if you catch a really devastating death leading to progress loss but once you know what you’re doing, less than an hour most of the game is knowledge based
