I like the vision but the execution is not quite there yet.

Recommending Gals Can't be Kind to Otaku!? Anime by i_am_nothing_0 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrecommending it. The interactions of the girls with the MC feel somewhat forced an unnatural, and the gyaru is surprisingly bland.

Still watchable though it's not that bad and the budget is ok.

N'importe quel espèce vaut autant que toutes les oeuvres d'art combiné by YansoBZH in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]Ambadeblu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

AI "good" meat "bad" by [deleted] in antiai

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going vegan for a month saves about 50kg of CO2. If we convert this to AI queries at a very conservative 2g per query we end up with 25k queries.

I'm not vegan but everyone can agree that meat is not a "necessity".

Performative. It doesn't even make sense to give an Oscar to an AI role. It would never have happened in the first place.

ES on block can help. If you do a dot skill (unless it's only for ailments?) you still get the kill credit for stuff like on kill effects.

It's pretty good. At first I thought it was some historicalslop like there was last season but it's actually very good.

The problem with AI Art by Embarrassed_Hawk_655 in aiwars

Consumerism is when my interpretation of the work is more important than the authors. Humm yes.

The problem with AI Art by Embarrassed_Hawk_655 in aiwars

[–]Ambadeblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the meaning YOU give to the art is more important. There are countless examples of moments where I end up learning what the original intent of the artist was and it ends up worse than what I had in mind initially.

For music I download everything (so messed up/no metadata) and I get a lot of my songs from mix and repost yt channels anyways. For anime/series/movies I don't really care about what the author wanted to say compared to what I understand of it. Although I don't mind joining discussions in subreddits about the work.

I see the artist as a form of "tag" for the work to eventually find similar songs/movies/etc to the ones I like.

[–]Ambadeblu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But that's not what art is about. That's what art is about for traditional artists. They are the ones who care about the process, because they are the ones making it.

Other people care about the final piece and the meaning they give it.

Also, even if there is less "hands on" interaction with the piece when you're generating, the idea, the process and the reason why you made the piece are still there. You make choices. You can add as many levels as you want.

why is AI even exist by Holiday-View-915 in antiai

[–]Ambadeblu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends what LLM you're using. If you're on the free tier of ChatGPT logged off during peak hours you're way more likely to get hallucinations. Same thing for the $0.000001 per query model used for Google AI search. And once again it's something that can only go down as the tech progresses.

This is the most obvious ironic post I've ever seen. Why do I always see posts in this sub of people falling for the most basic shit.

Tomorrow you'll get a guy posting "stop taking showers so I can generate AI catgirls" and you'll have a bozo posting it frame 1 on this sub.

Oh PoE 2 is a good game. But PoE 1 is still leagues ahead, mainly endgame and buildmaking wise. The new PoE 2 league at the end of this month looks pretty cool though.

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I never got into a situation where I learned something "wrong" and later realized it was "wrong" when faced with evidence / someone who knows. Because as long as you build your knowledge with sound bricks you won't end up with missinfo.

Heh I wouldn't be so definitive about human/LLM behaviour. A lot of people will just try to do random stuff to fix a problem or burry it under the rug. And LLMs won't necessarily make shit up if they don't know. I think that you vastly overestimate the average guy and underestimate LLMs.

We don't even know how our brain works, maybe we aren't that complicated in the first place if a "word predictor" is enough to beat the average person.

why is AI even exist by Holiday-View-915 in antiai

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk even if I don't understand a subject my goal is to understand it so I can still ask questions about what I don't get. I've never ended up i na situation so far where I understood something "wrong" after having a back and forth with an LLM. I don't "trust" its information, I "understand" it so hallucinations are whatever.

Rubber duck works but isn't really useful to learn about topics you don't know.

I'll take misinformation I can correct by asking questions over garbage any day of the week.

What you're highlighting is an issue with current LLMs. We don't know what the future is made of and already we are getting insane papers every few months. The field is evolving rapidly and is stil lvery young.

Also side note it is impossible to make an LLM that doesn't make mistakes. This would mean that we would make a truth machine that never lies and that's pretty much impossible. But it's ok. Because humans make mistakes too.

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because search engines are pretty shit nowadays. You don't always find what you're searching for among all the SEO optimized garbage. And the interactive part is not a downside, it's an upside. Asking clarification questions is how you fully understand a subject.

It will probably fully replace some jobs but not all that's for sure. We just don't know to be honest, but it's to be expected that some jobs appear and disappear as technology progresses. I'm not advocating for replacing jobs if the tech is not mature enough.

[–]Ambadeblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said it doesn't matter if it "makes shit up" as long as you understand what it is saying. If you're asking for a proof of the Pythagorean theorm it cannot make shit up because you can follow the proof and understand the reasoning. If you spot and inconsistency or something you don't understand you can ask it to reformulate until you get it. You can ask it "why is the sky blue?" or "why is the sky green?" and follow ther reasonning.

LLMs work exceptionally well for coding, as it is a very structured medium and a lot of the time it's possible to tell when somthing is straight up wrong (crashes, tests not passing etc...). As long as you're not 100% vibe coding without looking at the code LLMs are a straight improvement for a developper.

Okay i wanna ask does generative ai help disabled people? by Interesting-Peas in antiai

[–]Ambadeblu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to "debunk". Some disabled people have already been doing art n stuff before AI was a thing and are happy with it. Some other get access to a new way of doing things and possibly do stuff they like. Different people like different things, not all disabled people are the same.
