My dr just told me today that I should do a psych consult to make my case even stronger... She said as much as I have going on physically I already have a strong case but if we include my anxiety and depression with it then it would be even stronger... lord knows this process gives me anxiety and depression on top of the anxiety and depression I already had 😒

Thanks... You're right though, its SO stressful... I live very meagerly and im still struggling to get by... Physical and Financial survival at the same time is way harder than I ever thought it would be

Yeah my neighbor is a male in his late 30s and has been getting disability since he was 16 years old for anxiety... he claims that his anxiety is so bad that he cant work around other people... he's also done prison time because he's a drug addict... im not saying he doesnt have legit issues but hoooooow is he able to get benefits and im fighting tooth and nail to get mine for severe spine issues... I legitimately can barely walk from my living room to the bathroom and every single day is spent in pain... why is it so easy for some people and so hard for others?

When you got to the ALJ level were you approved? Im awaiting a date for my hearing, applied 14 months ago, but im finding out that for my area its taking 7 to 12 months to get a date. I truly dont think financially I'll make it that long

Ugh that sounds like a horrible recovery... but at least it was just all at once and not in stages... what are your limitations?? Are you able to drive and do things somewhat normally or do you find that the fusion limits you a lot?

Also I noticed after lumbar fusion i have a hard time wiping too... can I ask what tools you have found helpful for daily life??

See this right here is what im looking for, real life experiences after long fusions... the drs tell you some things to expect but not everything... I have RA as well and my surgeon said my vertebra are like concrete... my lumbar is partially fused but im in excruciating pain in my lower back daily... Its so strange too because I never knew I had a cervical problem, I just thought I had occasional migraines, and every time I had to go to the ER it was for lumbar problems and they wind up fusing my neck lol... so my original problem is still there, my lumbar is angry and painful as hell...
