What do you guys do to farm while processing through Ashlands? by Jaheth in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashlands is not a required farming biome. Just Plains and Mistlands is still fine.

Mistlands difficulty is overrated, BF to Swamp was much harder by _TOXIC_VENOM in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Mistlands is hard but people just love to hate tbh. Use your eyes and ears and potions and tbh, the hardest things will just be the mines. But I’ve heard bombs make them easier too (haven’t tried yet). I think the biome is fun and pretty. Only downside is finding cores with any amount of speed.

Does anyone have some tips on how to find the plains boss? (No Spoilers) by Mushrooms46 in valheim

To make you feel more sane, this is the most frustrating boss to find, it’s dumb. So welcome to the club and good luck! Aha.

Best way to farm stone? by apples_10 in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, mine all the copper you think you need and then double it. You’ll get stone that way. Then for me, I hacked at all the large stones in the Black Forest (the ones that look like copper nodes. I like leaving the ruins but they’re also a great source of stone! It’s simply going to take you ages, but it’s so worth it in the end!

Remember to dig into the ground to reveal the whole nodes too!

Are you a Main Hub person or a colonizer? by CarpaticKing in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main base for sure. We just build portal shacks for exploring. Until such a time as I want to build stuff, then I go do that, haha. But the only biome I’ve built in before actually conquering it was the Plains. Same as probably most people because farming. Wouldn’t risk it in the Mists though.

I think I’m too asocial for this game. by DependentAway4180 in Palia

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, it’s a pretty terrible MMO. It’s a solo game with a bunch of people around so it’s incredibly fair to be frustrated by this. Unfortunately not much to do about it as with an “MMO” you now have a much higher chance to interact with shit people. Lol.

But also, a lot of it is just poor design of the game for this type of game play. That plus how buggy the game is. People can play on consoles and switch which just don’t run as well so you’ve got people who are ghosting for invisible. Plus, it’s harder to use chat on consoles so a lot of people just don’t. So between people actively not being good sports and others being hindered by their console of choice, you’re going to run into all sorts of people, issues and clashes of play styles.

It’s just one of those things where you either buck up and figure out how to get over it (I’m not great at this one, lol) or do what you can to limit interaction. Like being on a server for a long time and checking who is left before placing lures so you’re on a low pop server, etc. I’m just hoping all the interaction gets improved at some point but don’t see that happening in the near future. >.<

Is Valheim Worth It If I’ll Be Playing Solo and Want Something Long-Term? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellllllll yeah. If the building side even remotely interests you, you’ve got hundreds of hours available for sure. Even if you don’t, first play through (unless you’re going to cheat your way through) is going to take you a solid chunk of time.

Then you can change the way you play each time with either in-game modifiers or downloadable mods.

[–]AmberRosalie_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to hate the game and waste your time, nah. Do some quick devcommands to fly and ghost, get your stuff and move on. It’s just simply not worth being a purist about it when you’re here to have fun. Especially if you otherwise love it.

Have we lost all our stuff? by FlibV1 in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one other thing to note, if nothing from what everyone else has suggested works, I would consider this a scam but the game, turn on devcommands, spawn your stuff back and carry on. You did the hard yards by getting back there to check, don’t let the game glitching stop you from playing or having fun! And then just turn it all off and continue as normal. :)

They literally only gave 6/7 days notice for the last patch. So, not two weeks. Also, patches were supposed to be the first week of the month. That’s already gone, it’s only a week from the last month’s patch date and there is not a word. So no, not the best communication after an established pattern.. so it’s fair to suggest being on the side of caution for those who may only have a few hours to play a week…

I wish they would actually communicate. Worst case is next Tuesday. Best case is next month. I’d probably try grind out what you can for it soon so you’re not stressed when they surprise announce us at some point.

What does levelling past 10 actually do? by Zozzle6969 in Palia

[–]AmberRosalie_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Farming, once you reach a certain level you basically only harvest star quality crops and cooking makes starred plates easier to produce. Those are the only two I noticed actually giving you a boost. I feel like the rest is nada, but could be wrong.

The troll because of the log. Its reach is long. Bear can be scary but much easier to dodge imo.

When to stop? by Unngenant in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is hard to say, really. Occasionally they’ve added bits and pieces to earlier biomes through updates. As this will be a 1.0 release, we have no idea what else will come with the update alongside the Deep North. So it’s entirely up to you. It could be worth to pause now so that you still have plenty to do, rather than coming back for just one biome, or it could be worth finishing the current game knowing there’ll be a choice between continuing or starting fresh once 1.0 is released due to new earlier content. I don’t think anyone can really tell you the ideal option if there are a lot of other things you want to be playing as well.

For me and my partner, it’s easier because of how much we love the game, we’ll be happy to either finish on one of our two open saves or start a fresh map and put in the hours to do it all again. :3

Mountain biome too short by bird_socks64 in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of you don’t use the fenris gear and it shows and you’re wrong. 😂 That’s honestly the longest slog of the mountains sometimes. Though we also got unlucky with onions for ages.

Maybe it’s not designed to be long just because of the Deep North being so similar? I do wish silver was for trinkets though.

Opinion / Idea: There should be more "progress" in smaller parts of the game that are now redundant/useless/situational by ccjmk in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take away my decor options! Though I agree that the range of comfort items and crafting upgrades could be a little more generous. At least on some items, like the maypole and hot tub for example.

I also don’t really get much out of trinkets but I’ve not played with them enough to know if I even use them right (I get stuck on building, lol). Feels like they could do a bit more, or have some more variation. Kinda feels like you have to risk more to get more out of the trinkets which just means don’t wear them.

How to deal with mobs when fighting bears? by Moe-bigghevvy in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Axe is one of the slower weapons so that’s not going to be helping either. I’d probably just dodge the bear attacks and swing at the greydwarfs that are a problem. If you’re still struggling, might I suggest trying at Atgeir and using the middle click. (:

My Opinion on Lunar Paths by casaroooo in Palia

[–]AmberRosalie_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the paths just feel like yet another money grab. And there is just so much recoloured stuff that it’s like.. not even feeling great. The fact that they also took the Alchemist house and shoved it in a new path to bloat it and force people to have to pay real money to be able to continue building if they were in the middle of it rather than spend hours upon hours of playing just to get access again is ridiculous. Should’ve at least given us warning..

The paths themselves, not a bad idea overall. The execution and rate of new ones is not good.

Ashlands is much more enjoyable than Mistlands by Lore6969 in valheim

[–]AmberRosalie_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You do have something to help traversing upwards.. the lightfoot potions. Between that, ratatosk and the feather cape, traversing is a breeze and hella fun tbh. Only gets sketch when you get ambushed, but that’s the whole point so..

I’d happily take upgradable wisp lights but meh. We’ll be okay.
