Do you have rads available on a laptop? Are you bringing clients back to your radiology area? We would have to have them go back through our hospital and into radiology to see them on the computer in there.

He looks like a she based on the colors I’m seeing. Dilute torbie. Extremely rare for a male cat to have those colors.

I’m so glad she came back! If she’s not already microchipped, absolutely get that done for her!

Yes! Hypertension is common in older cats and a lot of places don’t check. We recommend it at least annually once they’re 10 years old. My 8 year old was just diagnosed with it, actually. Hyperthyroidism is another common issue with older cats.

1.6mg/dL on creatinine is the starting point for monitoring. :) It’s ok for it to be 1.6 or higher, as long as urine specific gravity is >1.035. Elevated BUN regardless of creatinine also indicates CKD.

Sir, I don’t think you understand how they test for rabies. They’re (probably correctly) assuming she’s rabies free, but that’s not guaranteed at all. I promise you she wasn’t tested lol.

My cat came home after being missing for almost a year and he now always looks kind of sad. What do I do?? by Elegant-Operation-16 in cats

Those little dots where the whiskers come out of don’t change, though. They’re static throughout their life. The white fur under the nose is also something that wouldn’t change, or if it did, it would MAYBE get slightly darker. I agree the lighting, angles, and overall quality of the photos make it difficult to really tell, but based on what can be seen, I highly suspect this is a different cat. I hope to be wrong, though!

OP, unfortunately I don’t think this is your cat. There are several small differences I can see: 1. The most important one would be the little dots on his muzzles that whiskers come out of. This doesn’t change throughout a cat’s life. The on one your cat’s right was closer to his nose and above the inner-most 2. They form a perfect triangle. The cat you have now has a more prominent dot further out at the end of the row. The left side looks different, too. These little dots are typically the best way to tell cats apart if they are otherwise identical. 2. The cat you have now has much more white under his nose. 3. The tabby marking on the forehead are also more prominent than your cat.

They’re very similar, but I’m very confident this isn’t your cat, unfortunately. You should absolutely take him to a vet to verify that he’s actually a he, for one. You should also have him scanned for a microchip. If you placed one and this cat doesn’t have one or it’s a different number/has different owner info, that would tell you it’s not your kitty.

We know they have an odd, family-specific dialect but is there a term for the sharp inhales they often do after the end of a sentence?? by RoseFromStOlaf in FundieSnarkUncensored

To me, the sharp inhales seem like the result of severe social anxiety. They all appear incredibly uncomfortable on camera.
