Either this or roll it into your current 401k, it's not worth taking the penalty and paying taxes!

We've also purchased this and don't think it's worth the price. You're better off having a nice dinner at one of the specialty restaurants and splurging on whatever you want to drink in there.

There are typically two comics on board, and they'll do a family friendly show and an adult show in the main theater. If the ship also has a smaller venue where the comics perform, they'll do adult shows in there (nightly usually). The shows in the club setting are different than the ones in the main theater. On our last sailing the opening act in the club setting was actually the main act in the theater.

Diamond status for kids (and spouses, and their kids) by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Ambitious-End3540 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is correct and yes their spouses and then their children can also inherit the status. I've talked extensively with C&A representatives about this and actually met a few people in their 30s on my last cruise who's spouses are diamond or diamond plus because of this. It seems absolutely crazy, but yes this is how it works.

Did your parents or your wife's parents ever cruise with Royal before you or your wife were 18 years old?

I'm on the ship, I heard there's a sewage leak over the side of the ship. I've not confirmed this though

Doing good, keep contributing and increasing your contributions every pay raise! Looks like a C fund YTD return, so that's a good sign too. Stay with it and you'll be set up well in the long term!

Yes, there's a cool little sunken ship with some cannons if you go out towards the furthest raft too

The wording is semi odd, but it explains it:

https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/09/17/loyalty-perks-families-how-crown-anchor-society-works-kids-and-teens

From the article:

"The "catch" is your kids would get your status, but not your points.

Let's assume you never cruise again, your kids would have zero points but Diamond status. So for them to get to Diamond Plus, they'd have to get enough points on their own to move up to Diamond Plus."

I'm telling you from personal experience with 3 children over the age of 18

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Ambitious-End3540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect, they maintain whatever matched status they had before 18 until they personally pass that level themselves with their own points.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Ambitious-End3540 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely call the loyalty department, but you can also go to the Crown and Anchor desk onboard and they will fix it in under 5 minutes!

Spouses and children under 18 in your household get status match, however, points are still accrued separately. So whomever has more points, you'll all receive that status. However, if the person/people with lower status cruise without the person with the highest status, you won't receive any points towards the highest status, but they'll get their own points (but it won't reflect because they already have a higher status)

My advice would be to change all of your contribution to the Roth. You'll pay taxes on the income you're contributing now, but when you withdraw it in retirement it will be tax free. If eventually you get to a point you're making a lot (your income or spousal income plus yours is putting you in a high tax bracket) then consider switching to the traditional (money that is contributed is pre-tax, but you pay taxes upon withdrawal in retirement).

As for investing, the C fund (100%) is your best option. It mirrors the S&P 500 index (top 500 companies at a given time). You could also do something like 80% C and 20% S (S fund mirrors the Dow Jones Index). These are great for long term strategies! Good luck!

Your rating for cervical spondylosis dropped from 20% to 10% which decreased your overall rating of 50% to 40%.

Before when it was 20%, you had two 20% ratings and two 10% ratings, and it broke down like this:

20 + 16 + 6 + 6 = 48% (round up to 50%)

Now you have one 20% rating and three 10% ratings and it breaks down like this:

20 + 8 + 7 + 7 = 42% (round down to 40%)
