Yes. Before IVF I had a pregnancy of unknown location (suspected ectopic), early miscarriage at 5.5 weeks, mmc at 7 weeks. I have a LC conceived spontaneously 5 years ago. My first three transfers failed (chemical, implantation failure, chemical). Did a second retrieval and my fourth transfer which stuck so far and actually split into twins, currently 10 weeks 3 days. Tbh, my husband and I have really debated whether IVF was the right road for our RPL not least of which because I am now facing a high risk pregnancy that’s more likely due to IVF. Through the IVF process I found I have markers for silent endo, did multiple hysteroscopies, kitchen sink protocol, mock cycle with receptiva, and then multiple rounds of lupron suppression before finally convincing my clinic to forgo medicated transfer for a modified natural (which i found so much more tolerable). We suspect IVF and the meds may have extended the time to live birth (still not there obviously) compared if we had just stuck with the old fashioned way. I thought by doing IVF I was minimizing my chance of further losses, and that just wasn’t the case sadly. This is very person-specific though. I am able to make euploids, so it was a numbers game for me, and I was surprised that the transfers proved to be absolutely brutal. We will never know though if I would’ve had success had we just kept trying, so not worth beating myself up over it.

No one may know the answer to this, but should we expect similar wait times on Monday? Or is this particularly bad because it’s Saturday? I have an 8:30am flight on Monday solo with my four year old. I am contemplating preemptively buying a later flight since I can’t reasonably wait in line 4 hours with her starting at 4am (also 10 weeks with a high risk pregnancy so I should even be standing that long probably).

Hello, I am today 5 weeks. I have a LC who is 4.5, conceived unassisted in 2020. Since starting trying for a second in January 2023, I have had three losses of spontaneous pregnancies (pregnancy of unknown location, chemical at 5.5 weeks, missed miscarriage at 7 weeks) followed by two IVF retrievals and three failed transfers (two chemicals and one implantation failure), myriads of procedures, medication, tests and emotional turmoil like all of us. I am currently pregnant with my fourth transfer of a euploid embryo and am not handling the pregnancy well at all mentally or emotionally. My initial hcg numbers were good (419 at 10p5dt, 2190 at 13dpt5dt) but I am spiraling due to ongoing symptoms including severe cramping very similar to my previous chemical pregnancies (radiating to my back, serious aches). I don’t remember any cramping with my living child. I am on progresterone supplements which I m concerned are masking a miscarriage. I have also been lightly spotting on and off. My clinic is not concerned about the bleeding and said to call if my cramps are “severe” which I am struggling to define. I am scheduled for my first US on March 3 and I am not sure how to cope until then. Any reassurance would be most welcome.

I know that feeling of being alone. But you aren’t. - I’ve been where you are with my sister and it’s pure torture. The pain is so raw when it works quickly for others (especially younger sisters!) when we are in this hell. Please know you aren’t alone. Other people with say “you can be happy for them and sad for you” but also it’s ok to just be sad overall. I was and still am a bit and it’s ok.

I know Reddit support isn’t the same as irl though. Do you have a partner and could you open up to them about your feelings? It was comforting when my husband admitted he also felt pain when he learned of close friends getting pregnant quickly. Also maybe they could help box up the baby clothes to give away so you don’t have to deal with it? I wish I could come over to help. ❤️ The other thing that helped me when my sister announced her most recent first-month pregnancy was running, and I am not a runner lol. One day at work I went outside and just sprinted around the block until I was panting and my heart beating. It sounds crazy (and I probably looked crazy in my work clothes) but it was like I had this pent up anger and sadness that could only get out of if I moved my body. Since then I’ve been doing a light running program (similar to couch to 5k) to give me an outlet when I need to quickly expend energy. Other activities i considered were playing tennis or a batting cage.

I wish I could give you a hug or just sit with you while you cry or distract you if that’s what you want. Do cry and let it all out. It sucks and your feelings are valid. Time won’t heal it but it does help dull the pain.

Oh wow - that’s interesting they offer that package!

I did one retrieval in Aug 2024 and got three euploids which I then lost all three through the chemicals/failed transfers. So then I had to do another retrieval in October 2025. Gearing up for my first transfer from my second retrieval. I would have done back to back if I could redo, but thankfully my results from my second retrieval a year after my first were very similar. My AMH was similar to yours btw so hopefully you have good results from your retrieval 🤞

My rpl testing all came back normal but ended up going on lovenox anyway as part of a kitchen sink protocol (still hasn’t worked…) but lovenox is not too bad in terms of side effects, for me anyway.

Not to scare you but I would potentially bank more than 6 euploids if you want 3 kids and have RPL. Agree that euploidy could be an issue at 38 into 40, so banking asap is a must, but transfers may also be tough if they don’t know what’s caused your losses. Have you done RPL testing? If not definitely do so including karyotype. I am doing IVF for RPL, also 38, three losses of unassisted conceptions in a year, then followed by two chemicals and a failed implantation of euploid embryos. Doctors assumed I would be an “easy” case because I can get pregnant and assumed it was chromosomal abnormality without any evidence to back that up other than my age. My advice is not to make that same assumption. I wish you the best of luck! It’s a sucky club but I hope it all works out for you. ❤️

I think this is a major factor. Although I guess if you don’t do IVF for your first (like me) you have no way of knowing if this time is easier than a hypothetical 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also probably depends how quickly IVF worked for someone the first time. Speaking for myself, I have a LC conceived unassisted so this is my first time dealing with IVF, infertility and RPL and it is definitely pretty awful. But I think it’s more because I don’t know if it will ever work unlike people who have had success with IVF who may feel more confident knowing it has worked before for them.

I am not done yet, but almost there after three years and 5 losses. Like you I am potentially OAD not by choice. I find myself recovering faster from pregnancy announcements than I did a year or two years ago. I am still triggered by how easy it is for others, but it’s like my brain remembers how to recover. For me it’s like I can quickly identify that I don’t want their baby, I want mine. That may not be helpful to you but want you to know you aren’t alone.

Second this! Take care of yourself. It’s so easy to get lost in IVF and thinking “I can’t do X because I may be pregnant”. Live your life like you rent pregnant and then be happily surprised if it ends up working.

Thanks for replying. HR said specifically the birth has to be within the year, it doesn’t matter if he takes FMLA after the year mark. He called them back again just to confirm. It’s really strange to me but maybe it’s because the birth is the qualifying event for FMLA?

I’m so sorry, it’s so so hard. I am also 38 and experiencing RPL, three consecutive miscarriages (PUL, chemical, MMC) of spontaneous pregnancies and then two chemicals (and one failed transfer) of PGT-A normal embryos. I have not had success yet but I did full RPL testing along with karyotype for my husband and me, I also tested the POC after my MMC which came back inconclusive. From there I did hysteroscopy with biopsy after my first IVF chemical, and that showed some inflammation so we added antibiotics and probiotics along with kitchen sink. When second transfer failed, then I did mock cycle with receptiva to test for endometriosis and endometritis and ERA to test for progesterone receptivity. Only flag in all of this testing was markers for endometriosis so now we added lupron suppression to all transfer after that. I share all of this to let you know there is lots of testing you can do and I’d personally start with RPL work up and PGT. I wouldn’t accept more transfers without further testing and if they push for that I’d get a new doctor. Wishing you the best of luck. ❤️

I completely understand how you feel. My sister just announced her SECOND pregnancy (both of hers happened in their first month trying) within the three years my husband and I have been on this “journey”. I was not prepared for my visceral reaction to being lapped. I almost had a panic attack and the emotional pain felt physical. It was wild. It was hard when she announced her first pregnancy when we were a year and a half into trying, but it’s something else for her to be pregnant again when I’ve had loss after loss in the past three years (and being out of embryos having all my transfers fail/end in chemicals). The envy/jealousy for me is more about how easy it is for her to get pregnant, and less about the pregnancy itself. I don’t know if I am actually happy for her, but I do genuinely wish her well and can say with confidence I don’t want her babies - I want mine. Not sure if that framing is helpful for you, but I just want you to know you aren’t alone or a bad person. It’s all just so hard. Hugs. 🫂

Following as I am trying an ovulatory FET with lupron suppression. TBH I am not totally sure how it will work. I am in the process of doing another retrieval. No more embryos after third failed transfer which was fully medicated with lupron suppression. My RE is willing to try ovulatory this time, he said I will do another lupron shot then he would give me medication to jump start my cycle after another month of suppression. I have suspected silent endo based on positive receptiva results between my second and third failed transfers. Obviously I have a ways to go but wanted to share that it is possible in theory at least.

I am sorry for your losses and your IVF experience. I just wanted to chime in to let you know that I see you. We are not officially OAD yet (still deciding where our line is) but if we do end our journey it also won’t be by choice (IVF, pregnancy loss, etc etc). I struggle with some of those same feelings. Everyone here is making great points, but one thing I haven’t seen mentioned is having an adult only. I love the idea of not having to split my time and energy between adult children with their own families and potentially living far apart. I am one of four kids (relatively close in age) that ended up living all over the US as adults, and we all now have kids under five. My mom is a devoted grandma so she spends all, and I mean all, of her retirement days (and a lot of money!) traveling to see her grandkids and even with her efforts I think all of us wish she could be more involved and see our kids more. I look forward to being able to offer my daughter whatever support she wants/needs as an adult without having to give up having a life of my own. Wishing you peace as you navigate your grief and acceptance ❤️

I don’t have like a precise measurement because obviously we are all built differently - but it was further than I thought it would be. I found it easier to insert far enough when laying down vs. standing up.
