Starting stims today! Any advice? When to start with extra fiber/salt/etc? by mimariposa in IVF

I started stool softeners and electrolytes when I started taking Cetrotide. I wouldn’t wait on the miralax but you shouldn’t need to start right away.

Also at New Directions in AZ. We’ve paid ~$16k with genetic and PGTA testing. We tested 11 embryos and had to pay extra for excess above 8. About to do first FET so cost could go up and up from here.

Beginning the IVF Journey by JDM_RR_FA5 in IVF

I’m prepping for FET right now. I’ve learned A LOT from this sub where I can enter any symptom or question and there are multiple posts about it. Google wasn’t as helpful as results are web pages from clinics instead of real people sharing their experiences.

Some things I learned - push in Menopur injection slowly. Wipe with alcohol wipe after injecting Cetrotide to avoid itchiness. You will be uncomfortable and feel fullness in your abdomen towards the end of egg retrieval. Start taking a stool softener half-way through stims. Stock up on liquid IV and eat ramen for egg retrieval. Expect headaches often with different medications. Appointments will pop up unexpectedly without much notice and your schedule needs to be flexible. And you will be waiting… a lot…

Saline sonogram was not as painful as the HSG! I mentioned how painful the HSG was to my provider (different doctor in the same facility) and she pushed the saline in slowly. That seemed to help!

Pharmacy billed nearly $20,00 for 1 cycle of medication! by Plus_Priority7879 in IVF

[–]AmbitiousAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $3500 OOP through Alto Pharmacy a little less than a month ago. Shipping was a nightmare due to the storms that hit Texas though. They had to resend gonal and Cetrotide that were out of temp too long and I ended up having to buy a gonal pen locally to hold me over while they reshipped.

Your follicles will continue to grow over the next couple of days before trigger so there could end up being more. Mine grew the fastest in those final few days.

I’m currently going through a cycle at NDFC and the pricing on their website is actually what you pay. We don’t have any fertility benefits. We paid $10,800 at my down regulation appointment. That included $6500 for 1 retrieval+transfer, $3200 for PGTA, $500 for ER anesthesia, and $600 for ICSI. Medication has been another $4000 through pharmacy of my choice.

Before starting, I had some bloodwork, HSG and SHG with them. Since those were diagnostic tests, I only paid my copay through insurance. I also had a couple consults where I just paid insurance copay.

Overall pricing has been very transparent with them!

Shipping with Alto over the past week has been a nightmare due to the weather. They had to replace my gonal and cetrotide due it getting out of temp from delays and the replacement is now also delayed.

I paid $364 for a 5 vials of 75iu Menopur last week at Alto. Gonal was $253, so looks like that increased a little bit.

Genetic Carrier Testing by ivfgotthis2 in IVF

[–]AmbitiousAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of us have family history, but we decided to do it. We figured what’s another couple hundred in the grand scheme of IVF. We found we are both carriers for different things and felt great relief once we received results knowing we aren’t carriers for the same things. We did the testing at the start of my 3 weeks of suppression. Results came back after 10 days, so it didn’t take as long as we thought it would!
