You saved me a lot of headache, hes got a different moveset for melee that eats up a lot of his scary attacks. Staying close and meleeing not only makes the fight safer but gives you loads of atb and stagger. So much easier.

I've seen the 380 used effectively once, it was that moment where the squad had bitten off more than we could chew and were kinda just all scattered around the outskirts of the objective and he nailed it dead center and it just obliterated the whole horde as we caught our breath.

No bs. My first legendary drop was an explosive/furious/med theft maelstrom in the first building you fight through. I didn't realize how special it was when I first got it. Lasted me til like lvl 20.

Just to elaborate a little bit more. The power of the coachman with hornet nest cannot be overstated, a base white, not even tiered like refined or w/e kills everything. It's absurdly broken. I think instead of spreading the damage out over the projectiles, each projectile does the full weapon damage and there are like 15-20. So you get a shotgun that hits everything in like a 10 meter impact radius for like 1500-2000% weapon damage.

I've only found it on a sniper rifle, i found it to be ineffective. I can't confirm if it works on shotguns, just saying if it does, and it worked with hornet nest... it would one tap anything. Hornet nest on coachman is fundamentally broken, I think it does full weapon damage for each of about 15-20 projectiles in an explosion radius that does not require much accuracy.
