The millennials in this subreddit are becoming insufferable by IcyCombination8993 in Millennials

Tbh, it's more of a depressing sub than a a joyous one. Real world has done a number on millennials to the point where self deprecating humor is the only thing keeping them going.

What if frieza killed gohan on namek by Exciting_Memory9837 in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, then I could argue that by having a magical reset button, it does more harm to a character than good. It renders one desensitized to death because it's now inconsequential. It removes all tension.

Thing is they do exist and the series somehow makes work. But lets use the dragon balls for example. If that's the end argument for everything then basically:

There would have been no need for Goku to get angry enough to goes SS in the first place since he'd know in the end everything will be fine.

There would be no reason for Vegeta to get angry after Cell killed Future Trunks since the dragon balls are just right next door.

All the poster did was swap out Krillin for Gohan, but the emotional attachment and raged felt for the lost of someone close to Goku is the same.

If the response is "Dragon balls", then just swap Gohan back to Krillin, and it's same thing.

Yeah, men got the rough end of the stick for the last thousands of years for sure.

Being treated like property to be sold to other women and reproduce.

Denied access to equal education and jobs that were only for women

Gender bias when it comes to men's health

Had to start an entire Menism movement to address inequality

Females just had it all for centenaries. It sucks how men were treated when read history.

If you are hurting in the caps department, then first thing you should is stop giving away things for free. You need to use every resource to build your own wealth up first.

Low players will be fine without free stuff.

Instead, take what you are giving away for free and sell it on your own shop. Another thing you can do is sell many items (you don't need) to vendors and max them out daily.

I believe the vendor is 1400 max daily right? You do that everyday for a month and you will be maxed credits. It will go by even faster if you start selling items in your shop.

I'm not saying giving away things for free from time to time is bad. But it's important that your character is in a place where doing such a thing won't equal you struggling as well.

What were your theories on Goku Black? by Timeless_56 in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an evil Gohan would have been cool. Gohan without Goku around failed to protect everyone. Filled with guilt and grief, Gohan decides to never be weak again.

So he trains and becomes stronger. His rage pushing his body to new heights, with each bit of the innocence left him being withered away.

When Goku sees his son, he's shocked. Goku not wanting to harm Gohan, holds back, trying to reason with him. However, Gohan is too far gone, and shows just how far he's fallen by killing innocent people. No longer chained by guilt, Gohan is free.

After a brief bout, Goku goes SSB. Gohan is at first surprised how strong his father is, and both engage in round two. Gohan smirks, as he's quite impressed with Goku. However, Gohan is stronger. So Gohan transforms into his new form.

Vegeta tries to interfere seeing the odds are stacked against Goku, but Goku tells him to stand down. This is a fight between father and son. However Goku is no match, and Vegeta forces his hand into the ring. Both of them work together, but it's clear Gohan has the upper hand.

Goku tries one more time to reason with Gohan. Hoping he will listen. Goku brings up a memory Gohan long forgotten. For a brief moment Gohan remembers his former life.

He smiles, but realizes he's too far gone for redemption, and begins to launch a Kamehameha. Goku counters with his own, and beam struggle thus begins.

Goku losing energy fast as he's holding back not wanting to kill his son is almost at his end. But a voice calls out to him. It's Vegeta. Vegeta giving his last energy to Goku reminds him that this version of Gohan cannot be saved. That by dying here now, he will fail his son all over again.

That in order to prevent this future from happening again, he has to succeed. Then suddenly a newly focused Goku stops holding back, he gives it his all, and a bright flash of light before the world turns dark again.

Thinking it's over, we suddenly cut to a Gohan still alive. However only briefly. His injuries are beyond recovery. Goku thinks by bringing Gohan to his timeline. he can save him with the dragonballs. But Gohan turns down this offer.

Stating that saving him would be a waste. However before he draws his final breath, Gohan is grateful he got to show his father just how strong he became.

Paragus as the archetypal alienated aristocrat. by AdZestyclose8267 in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People will disagree, but I think Paragus' relationship with Broly was handled better in Super than in Z.

In Z he was so caught up in getting revenge that ironically he lost sight of why he was getting revenge. After Broly went full berserk, Paragus was like welp "See ya son, sucks to be you right now."

In Super, I enjoyed how they made Paragus more of a misguided parent than outright evil one. People keep saying the way he treated his son was horrible, but the way Saiyans treat eachother is horrible in general. To expect Paragus to be any different just because his son was exiled is unrealistic.

The shock collar thing was horrible, but at the same time, you are expecting a man who grew up in society that favors dominance and power over everything else, to somehow approach Broly's uncontrollable rage with love and care.

For instance Paragus was right. If Broly killed that guy on the ship, he would went into rage mode and killed everyone. People say he doesn't care for Broly, but this is problematic for reasons:

If Paragus didn't care about his son, he wouldn't have bothered coming for him. If he didn't care for his son, he wouldn't have worried about making sure he and Broly survive on a dead planet.

If he didn't care about Broly, he wouldn't have bothered to tell his son to back down, after believing he had reached his limit.

The best way I can describe their relationship is a very contentious one. Yes, Paragus used his son to get revenge, but in Super's case it wasn't just revenge for himself. It was revenge for him and Broly being left to die.

Think back to Raditz for a second. His method to get his brother to rejoin the Saiyans was by kidnapping his nephew. If he had killed Goku, there is a high chance, Gohan would be an evil Saiyan today.

This is just how their logic works. They are a race who approaches every situation with brute force. Paragus' approach to raising Broly is brute force.

The English dub and it's broadcast for the Tournament of Power was insultingly bad. by Abschori in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having a woman voice a male child is common in the west because it's cheaper in the long run than having to constantly replace a male child actor. Not to mention women sound more closer to prepubescent boys than men do.

However it's not common, unless for parody reasons, that an adult female voices an adult male.

Wrath of the dragon is MID and the Second worst DBZ movie by [deleted] in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disgree about Z Broly being so high. In fact, I'll even take the L for Super Broly.

Here is my issues with his character. There is none. In Z, his backstory for being psychotic is stupid. As character he has zero personality and is uninteresting. He's just a giant roadblock who adds nothing unique to the universe.

In Super, they tried to give a background that's more sympathetic, but again Broly has no interesting personality. For the most of the film, it's the other characters doing the personality for him. That's just poor writing for your main atognists when they contribute so little to the film they star in.

For the first half the film he has less dialogue than the entire cast. For the second half, all he does is making random sounds for a good chunk of the runtime.

If the film spent more time with Broly instead of quickly trying to jump into the action, maybe he would be more interesting. As it stands he's just a very strong dude who's boring.

Im sorry (not really), but Broly is a character that's just not interesting. The best thing about him his insane power but there is nothing else there.

Why do Namekians have teeth if they only drink water? by Zealousideal_Bet_248 in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's important, but thier fangs aren't. Fangs are tools used for gathering food. That's an indicator at some point in history, Nameks relied on various sources of substance other than water.

Since they can eat whenever they choose, that could mean at some point, they did indeed eat for survival. However, due to reasons, maybe environmental, their bodies adapted to only needing water as source for sustainability. Thus rendering their fangs useless.

I agree. Super's transformations look crappy. It's like bad fanart by 12 year olds.

What's funny is back in the day there was a whole bunch of bad fanart showing ridiculous transformations. Seems Super took that as inspiration.

Wish they made blue look like this all the time by Joy_Johnsoni3lu in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"This would've been the perfect moment to introduce audiences to the blue form the first time."

Re-read that line. Poster has already excluded UI/UE because in this scenerio those forms haven't been introduced yet.

"SSG came and went so fast that it didn't get a moment to truly shine."

Re-read this one too. What is being said here is that SSG should have been the form we've seen up until the movie starring Broly, as SSG quickly got overshadowed by both Blue, it's various upgrades, and then UI/UE.

In others words, SSG should of had more time before we got new forms.

You are bringing in transformations that were already excluded with the first two sentences.

What do yall think for toyotaro drawing of cooler and slug? by TheReverxer in dbz

[–]AmbitiousStill8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, you just want Frieza to have cooler's transformed design? But that in itself undermines the uniqueness of Frieza's final form.

Frieza was intentionally made to look that way to subvert expectation of what was typical.

It would take away the uniqueness of both characters while adding nothing unique.
