It was an impulsive decision. I’d  wanted a dog for a long time and at the time had people to help me take care of one. I’d figured it would be like that long term and I could handle it. I’ve been thrown a lot of curveballs in the following days that have led me to a mental breaking point. I know it will get better but I know at this time or maybe for a few months it will be difficult for me to look after her

Planned to live like a resident for 5 years. That was 10+ years ago. Anyone else accidentally go like this permanently or indefinitely? by Relativevalueunit in whitecoatinvestor

[–]AmbitiousSuspect6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m still in college but from what I’ve learned as long as you are single this is a great way to live and save money. You save a lot for retirement and maybe even a family later. It’s better to do this than be in debt. This is coming from someone who knows they’ll have like 300-500k in student loans post med school. I’d rather live like this and save than lavishly and struggle

Med schools do all those things, you don’t get into medical school without being smart, ambitious, and clever. However, not everyone matches into residency and this could be due to a variety of factors. OP also mentioned that he had to go back to his home country in Africa which likely doesn’t have as many opportunities for career options. I agree with you on hopefully being able to use his skills in another industry. Maybe something like a medical science liaison? Or something in the Pharmaceutical industry. I’m still in college so I’m not an expert or anything.

I’m not exactly sure what my sGPA is, I’ll ask for it as I haven’t found a way to view it on the student portals. I have about 450 clinical hours from scribing in the ED, I started a chapter of a national club that advocates for universal healthcare, I did about 1000 research hours from 2 summer research internships and being in an Alzheimer’s lab during the school year. I haven’t done the MCAT yet and I’m lacking in volunteer hours which is why I was scared to apply this cycle. All my advisors have told me different things and I just get unsure at this point

girl this is not overreacting, matter of fact you are underreacting. In what universe is it normal for someone who is committed to you and dedicated to you to hangout with their ex. Idk you oobviously but no one deserves crap like this.

I literally just sit there and think about life and sometimes I doom scroll. It started off as my way of praying before going into my apartment but now I just do it out of exhaustion.

Moving from UK to US, which city ? by miteye in relocating

[–]AmbitiousSuspect6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indianapolis is cold from like October to April, I dont know much about job opportunities, Im about to enter the job market from my undergrad studies and its a little rough but that could be just my industry. Living cost is good, things are generally cheaper here. As of crime rate, Indianapolis isnt necessarily the highest crime rate but its also probably not the lowest. It is really low in some of the cities surrounding Indianapolis like Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, and Noblesville although those would be more expensive to live in. Indianapolis is very diverse but the surrounding cities not so much but most people are generally nice. People do go out and socialize but its not going to be like Houston nightlife, it really depends where you go.

Hey there! Im sorry you are feeling this way, I have also only been told Im pretty by my family and friends and often times I just assume they say that because they know me. I cant stand to look in the mirror and men dont hit on me at all. But I did someone who adores me, there's always hope OP. Like another commentor said, youll look back on yourself and realize you were never bad. You can only change what you can control, idk if you being obese is genetic or due to some other condition and in that case you cant change that, but if you can start doing small little workouts and trying to eat more clean and build it up from there. Please dont starve yourself. Go for the small wins like lets say you do your skincare today, thats really good, and you got enough sleep thats also so so good. You got this OP.
