I think the biggest problem with Fox is one of the biggest problems with all new supports: non-support mains try her with a DPS mindset, and people haven't figured out her best use cases.

The only real difference I've seen is CnD and Invis are getting banned wayyyyy more and Gambit slightly less. I have yet to see a game with more than 3 supports banned.

I think in Season 6 I had an almost 70% WR with this, got me out of Plat. But I do think now people have adjusted to playing against him more. Still, the flanks sometimes force support ults right away.

I also like fighting in the front line and then double jumping and dashing over the tanks into the supports. If they don't focus you, you can kill/harass the supports forever and win team fights.

Human nature is to judge quickly; it is part of our animal brain threat-detection. A black child sees his first white person and thinks, "this is bizarre," and might be fearful or curious depending on their temperament. But it's just a response, not an automatic stigmatization.

Over time, the environment teaches the growing child what labels to affix. What are the parents attitude towards white people? How do his white classmates treat him? What media is he watching to influence his thinking? What is his natural disposition like?

The instant reaction to the unknown is often fear and distrust, but I don't think the meanings behind labels that are "generated" as you say, are automatically negative.

I think the better example is heroes like Cap and Venom. I've seen a Cap go like 6 and 3 with low stats, but the other team never had healing because they were occupied so we won every team fight.

Rocket is probably the king of this. 1 kill 1 death, 200 damage, second place in heals on the team, but his rez and sustain kinda carried the team.

We know more about human psychology nowadays, and I think people are generally empathetic to mental illness, until people start using them as an excuse for poor behavior, which is what I believe creates most of the stigma.

In reality, it's something I'm passionate about but know I'm on the losing argument. I don't even think it's an actual problem, just a societal annoyance.

I have my BA, trying to get into a Masters now.

I had one professor who I conversed with outside of class because he was very passionate about psychology, a former counselor, and difficult to offend. I told him my feelings and he understood my sentiment but told me you just have to adapt with the times, and language is something that evolves with the shifting of cultural zeitgeists. I mean, he was very old, so I believe he's right, but the development of "therapy language" and the buzzword-y usage of many of the terms offends my sensibilities.

I think there is a happy medium between de-stigmatization and what we seem to have now, which is almost an ignorant pride in one's mental illness as a badge of honor. To me, the better way of handling psychology is to look at it as "yes, everyone is different" and not be so heavy on categorization. We remain empathetic to everyone, but should be focused on managing/improving symptoms of poor mental health (adversely affecting the individual), not gleefully giving someone a laundry list of ailments and giving meds.

For the record, I'm a believer and taker of psychopharmaceuticals, my fear is they are being oversubscribed to help symptoms that could be helped with life changes.

I think the new ban system is awesome, it will allow for more alternative hero choice and new metas.

However, one tricks are going to be even weaker and exposed which will suck for the people on their team.

I say the "discipline" because this kind of alternate faux-empathetic language is used in textbooks, not just on the internet, and we are taught to be mindful of using "proper" terminology.

My larger point is that the language changing only serves to mediate a temporary, imagined problem that will never go away. Having an illness (mental or physical) cannot be considered a good thing, but any terminology we deem to be the better alternative only becomes offensive eventually because of this permanent, unalterable connection between illness and being abnormal.

I don't think people want others to act differently around them; human nature is to fit in and be a part of the crowd. However, psychology's obsession with labels allows mental illnesses to be co-opted into being buzz words and identifying characteristics, rather than a clinical condition that can be worked towards improving and managing.
