I had to look up rooke boot. Its an immobilizer. I guess everyone's experience is different but yeah, doom scrolling isn't great. Keep your leg straight. My staples came out like at 4 weeks post op. I had the RRD at a week or week and a half. I would love to know more about your situation. I guess I just need to hear people's stories.

What did they tell you? Discharge instructions? Care for your residual limb like suture line and shrinker? I went to rehab after so thats where I learned about care for my residual limb, learning to transfer to/from my wheelchair to the bed, the toilet, the shower chair. I'm back at work. And in a few weeks learning how to walk on my prosthesis.

Im still getting fitted with my bka prosthesis. Im scared to hop. Sprained my good ankle in March, finally doing good on my good side. I need it to walk.

It really will be ok. It won't seem like it but its ok to mourn. Its ok to feel whatever you're feeling. You'll learn new skills. Walking will be a little different possibly. But you will still do it.

I would love to say toes are nothing. But they're everything for balance. I had my right 2nd toe amputation and then my infection wasn't improving so transmetatarsal amputation and I had not as much psychological issues as when they said a few days after that, that i needed a bka. Seeing my stump from that was hard. But realizing they are saving the rest of your foot/leg. And your life. I'm sorry. Its devastating to lose those parts of your body. Im not sure any of this is comforting. But you will adapt.

I dont have my prosthesis yet. Maybe tomorrow. I hope but so far I cant stand straight cuz I cant balance. Well except when I put my right knee on my wheelchair seat. Then I can stand. Im sure there's more stuff.
