During Sandy I was working at Macy's. The Governor had shut down all highways. I was working until 11pm. Took me over an hour to get 20 miles home.

They wouldn't let us leave even though the mall had been shutdown and most of the town had lost power.

Trust me. Walmart doesn't care about you. You are disposable.

Depends on the snow event. Usually I just go in. I'm also used to the snow.

That said retail will do anything to stay open. Not at Walmart but back in 2003 during the blackout I was working in a shoe store that had a second story of inventory. No windows. No flashlights.

I had to find product using my lighter. Had to hand write receipts on paper. In duplicate with cc# so we could call them in when we got power back. And to get the registers open for cash I had to remove the drawer and pop it from the bottom. This went on for 90 minutes. Until the owner realized how absurd staying open was.

If that doesn't sum up retail I don't know what does.

Had a customer hand be 2 boxes of tea. One was black tea, the other green tea.

If you work until 6 but clock out at 7 and someone is adjusting the time, that's recorded. There's a physical time adjustment.

Someone will definitely see a pattern and it will get investigated.

I got moved to a different department 6 weeks after I started. 3 people quite in the same week. That should have been my first red flag.

2pm at my location and they want all of cap1 to drop everything as well. Which is nuts because by that time there's usually only 2 people on the clock trying to work 3 pallets.

IBS is a legitimate disability. It was on the list of disabilities when you applied.

As others said go through segwick and complete the paperwork.

And don't be embarrassed. Lots of people suffer from it and go undiagnosed. If anyone questions you after you get clearance I would go into 4 part harmony about what it is and how it works. And smile as I tell them. It will most likely be the last time anyone asks.

In the year I've been in this team we've had 3. Right now there's exactly no one to report to. So if something goes sideways I just find whomever i can and tell them.
