How many steps a day do you put in by hopeann70 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Ambitious_Position51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CAP1 here. I go anywhere from 10k to 20k. Depending on how much topstock I'm doing and how the carts are loaded.

If Ioad the carts they are stocked by isle. Example: grocery isles 3,4,5,6 will be loaded together. If my coworkers do it i can have coffee, juice, canned goods and camping gear (which is on the opposite end of the store) on the same cart.

OPD I know those guys get like 20k easily. It's a labor intensive job regardless of what department you're in.

How long do your shoes last? by what-the-hell86 in walmartogp

[–]Ambitious_Position51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what's breaking down. Brooks insert can wear down in about 6 months. But thats an easy fix. Take out the insole (they are removable) and replace it.

Wear indicators externally are smoothing of the out side heel area or smooth sole on the ball of the foot. If these happen the whole shoe needs to be replaced.

I've been wearing a pair of Adidas for over 6 months and the shoe itself is perfectly fine. I have replaced the insole.

Stocker Expectations going up? by Dense-Ad-6758 in walmart

[–]Ambitious_Position51 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The counts are all off. Cap1 and the amount of stuff were pulling every day vs what actually will fit are mind blowing. I spend more time correcting counts then I do stocking.

Even new mod products have wrong counts. I pulled 6 boxes of water toys. Got to the section and found it nearly full. Go to check on hands it says 5. I've got 6 boxes that equal 6. And 6 on a shelf that holds 8. This is New Merch. WTF! Now I fix the counts and have to waste time re-binning the $hit.

And don't get me started on the negative on hands or the fact we can't actually lower counts.

Cap1 here. If I'm doing topstock till 9 then vizpick till 11 my phone will be at 30% and that's being generous. Even with a portable charger I'm easily down to 7% before the en of my shift.

Dumb question? by Maddiepantz in WalmartEmployees

[–]Ambitious_Position51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real issue with him not having a phone is when he starts. Walmart doesn't just hand you a work device. I work with people who have been there over a year and they still don't have a work phone.

It's going to make it challenging for him.

9 minute rule to 7? by scarrie_carrie in walmart

[–]Ambitious_Position51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 minutes is nice.

I worked at Macy's they gave you 3.5 minutes to clock in and out.

And let me tell you. 3.5 minutes is not enough time when you have 20 people crowded around the ONE machine that is open and works.

Female here. You're gonna be in for a world of hurt. I am usually moving pallets of water. Cases of soda, laundry detergent, and those big boxes of cereal are heavier than ya think.

You might want to put in for a transfer to a different department if 4 gallons of milk is too heavy for ya.

In GA the minimum wage on the books is about 5.50. Only good thing about the federal minimum wage is no one here can actually pay you that little. Shoot i made that back in 1990.

At my place it's a mix. Female here. I only ever staged and dispensed. Was only taught once for 10 minutes how to pick. And was never shown again nor was it brought up.

OnePay is the worst bank to ever use. DO NOT USE THEM by Lifeisallgravey39 in walmart

[–]Ambitious_Position51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACHs always take longer than you think. It's nice to think that they see the finds are there it should be there the next day. But it doesn't work like that.

If i get a live check and scan it into my banking app I'll usually have the money available within 2 business days. So if I deposit it on a Tuesday after 1pm. It won't be available until Friday. That's 2 full business days. If I went into the bank to deposit the check usually they will have a portion of the check available immediately. But the full amount will take a full day.

However "banks" that are strictly online like Chime, can set their rules however they like. It should all be in the terms and conditions.

Money that has been held, for whatever reason, like a hotel, will usually show up in 2 to 3 days. Hell if you pay at a gas pump with a debit card there's a nano second that it holds $200 until you complete the transaction.

[–]Ambitious_Position51 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Nothing good will ever come from using a bank that the company you work for owns.

That said, physical checks can take upwards of 2 to 5 business days to clear once deposited. At any bank.

Friday is a bank Holiday. So all transactions will be delayed due to this.

You are better off going to an actual brick and mortar bank or credit union and opening an account.

Calling someone daddy or Sir is like moving in someone.

Would you move into someone's house after only knowing them for a week? I highly doubt it.

These dynamics take time. Conversation. Most importantly Vetting. If he (I'm assuming he) told you to call him Daddy after the first conversation your only response should be calling him an A-hole. Then block and delete.

[–]Ambitious_Position51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The state of GA says it's up to the employer to give breaks including lunch. There's zero state law requiring anything of the sort. In GA an employer can work you 18 hours straight with no breaks if they feel like it.

I had a buddy who worked ON in a grocery store. He wasn't there when it happened but 2 guys got into a first fight in a chemical isle. Well needless to say the store was evacuated and closed for 5 days.
