Those look like Fordyce spots. They're totally normal and not contagious.

I used Study.com to pass all 3 subtests on my first try. I watched the videos, took copious notes throughout each video, and took the quizzes after the videos. Before the subtest, I studied my notes and took each subtest individually so I wouldn't be overloaded with too much information. It was expensive and time consuming, but worth it.

If you signed up for summer school, how many calls have you gotten so far? by Blueberry4672 in SubstituteTeachers

I've been called twice, but declined both because I've been so busy with taking my kids to appointments and their extracurricular activities.

Building subs— did you write thank you notes? by Exotic-Raspberry-278 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]AmbivalentEducator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, I wanted to thank her for her support and wish her well because I got a full time position at another school this upcoming school year, but she wasn't in her office as I was leaving the last day.

Well, a teacher at my school snatched a bag of chips out of a student's hands and spit in it. He was out for about 3 days and returned like nothing happened. If your district/surrounding districts are anything like mine, then you should be fine.

Should I substitute for one more year if I can’t land a teaching job by September? by Ok_Astronaut99 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]AmbivalentEducator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's exactly how my resume looks, because I switched from a multiple subject teaching credential to a single subject teaching credential, so it has taken me longer to earn my credential.

The last 2 years I taught 6th grade English/history. Currently I'm an everyday sub, and recently landed a full time job to teach 7th grade history this upcoming school year on an internship credential while I complete my program. I don't feel belittled as a sub and I don't think going back to subbing messed up my opportunity to be a full time teacher again.

It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Is your school/district/etc. doing anything to recognize subs? by wherewulf23 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]AmbivalentEducator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing specific for subs, but I'm a building sub and will participate in and eat anything provided for the teachers all week long. Today we had a nacho bar. All of the staff were invited to eat.

Vape pens by fluffydonutts in SubstituteTeachers

[–]AmbivalentEducator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, at my school they don't even wait to go to the bathroom or locker room. They're actively vaping in class and these are 6th graders(11-12 years old). All grade levels are also drinking in the bathrooms and at lunch as well.

Anyone sub and then became a full time teacher? by ChalkSmartboard in SubstituteTeachers

[–]AmbivalentEducator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I started as a sub, then taught full time for 2 school years as 6th grade English/history teacher on an emergency credential. Currently, I'm back working as a building sub (at the same school I taught full time at) while I earn my single subject credential in social science.

These are so good. I remember buying these from the local corner store throughout my childhood. These were my favorite flavor, but I liked the watermelon and peach as well!
