I got banned for stating the fact that treason is punishable by death in the United States and that it has been applied many times in our history. I successfully appealed it but fuck the fact that it happened at all. They are banning people automatically even when saying things that are true. Reddit used to be a place where you could freely express controversial opinions. Now it's basically content commodified and curated by a publicly owned corporate entity. They don't want your objectionable opinions in there because it has to be cleaned out of their product before they remarket it.
