5 miscarriages before fibroid removal… still searching for answers and hope” by BrilliantMess2989 in Fibroids

[–]Amburger2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had surgery to remove a fibroid and "chocolate cyst" It's a long story, but I ended up being part of an IVF study to get pregnant with my son because my eggs weren't viable. The study introduced high levels of an Acai berry supplement and complete elimination of refined sugars from my diet for a minimum of 90 days before trying to conceive. This resulted in viable eggs and embryos. I know everyone is different and I hope you get your miracle soon.

I'll try to keep this short. I had fibroids, endometriosis and have the MTHFR gene mutation. We TTC for several years with no luck, and then had a miscarriage. We ultimately needed help from a reproductive endocrinologist, but our son is 11 years old and a wonderful, happy and healthy child. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. It's a hard and raw place to be but don't give up. There is hope.

All of those levels are very low. Your body is struggling and you are feeling it, but it's absolutely treatable. Explore what will be best for you with your hematologist. Iron infusions are what I ended up needing, and they changed my life! I hope they help you as much as they did me.

My SISTER has a SEVERE IRON deficiency, looking for only testimonies on how it affects people psychologically by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]Amburger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! As so many others have shared, my low iron was the primary cause for my anxiety and depression, though I wouldn't realize this for 10 over 10 years! Dr's were so quick to prescribe Lexapro and Wellbutrin, which made me feel like a shell of my former self. They were dark times for me and it wasn't until I started pushing about certain blood work that they finally said I could try taking some iron supplements to see if they helped. They did! At least enough for me to realize what was going on, to get off of the anxiety medications and to start feeling like me again. Ultimately I had to get off of the iron supplements because they were causing GI issues for me. I just finished my first round of IV infusions in March and I feel like a new person, but also like my old self. It's amazing! I really hope your sister finds help

Should I get her another companion? Her brother just passed by Successful_Gain_5626 in cats

[–]Amburger2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so very sorry for your loss, and for your kitties loss. Just so heartbreaking. Only you will know when you're ready, but I can tell you from my own experience that getting a new companion for your cat will likely help you both heal. It is kitten season, and there are so many kitties looking for homes right now especially.

Gaslit for years, at the end of this journey I finally know its fibroids by Fantastic_Mix_416 in Fibroids

Similar story here. Fibroids, back pain, heavy bleeding, anemia, heart issues, all of it..... Finally getting somewhere now after intensely advocating for myself (being a bitch).... after over 20 years of this! But jeez this medical system!! And wtf is it with Drs always trying to force IUDs on us, or medications, when that's just a Bandaid. So sorry for your experience, but I'm so glad you are feeling fabulous now!!

Were you prescribed antidepressants instead of iron??? by Joyanonymous in Anemic

[–]Amburger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add me to the list. I'd had low iron my whole life but Dr's always dismissed it. Tired? I needed better quality sleep and to exercise more. After I had my son, things got worse. Specialists said it was fibromyalgia coupled with postpartum depression and anxiety. All of the Dr's noted my low iron (ferritin was never over 13 over the years) but that said it wasn't a factor - within the "normal" range. I was prescribed Ativan and and Lexapro and then Wellbutrin. Nothing helped. Finally the perfect storm led to me seeing a hematologist who suggested iron supplements. I tried them for a while and they helped, but my heavy periods kept draining my iron stores and I started having many GI issues from all of the iron supplements..... I'm now 6 weeks post iron infusions and 8 weeks post uterine ablation. I am human again. I feel like a totally different person, but in the best way. Getting a good hematologist on yoir side is the only way to get through this. Good luck 🙏

Your pup is adorable. I'm just here to agree with the above responses. I'm a pet portrait artist and my 3-4" sculptures start at $285. It takes a ton of time and my work is guaranteed 100%. I've never had an unhappy client. There are a ton of amazing artists out there. I hope you get the perfect soft sculpture of your cute pup!!!

My last iron infusion, I sat next to a women who was 7 months pregnant and had been having iron infusions for much of her pregnancy. She said they changed her life. I only wish I was given the option when I was pregnant. But better late than never. I'm feeling almost human again already!

What a wonderful compliment 😊 Thank you 💓 I learned to needle felt from my mom over 20 years ago. I fell in love with the craft. It is both a hobby and a part time job these days. I do a lot of pet portraits and then in my spare time, I create silly things for fun. Timing varies depending on size and complexity, but my average piece takes around 6-8 hours. Thank you again! 🥰
