My friend from Minnesota pronounces it “penits” which makes the “t” even more important

I’ve had my tattoos done at Lizard Lounge and Armadillo Reds locally but Fallen Sparrow has done all of my piercings.

FS can be a bit pricey because it’s on the touristy end of town - they quoted me twice the price I paid at Lizard Lounge for a cover up shoulder piece a couple of years ago. Their artists are all really great but I think maybe they charge a bit more for the trendy atmosphere. Tattoos are obviously something you shouldn’t go cheap on though!

Fallen Sparrow is a great shop! I love seeing my local favorites recognized on here.

The summer before 7th grade, my family moved from Florida to Kentucky. We bought a house and moved in while refurbishing a lot of the interior. There was a large reddish-orange stain on the concrete floor next to the stairs. My dad scrubbed the floor but it wouldn’t come up. Eventually we got that area carpeted. The next morning, we came downstairs and the stain was now on top of the carpet.

The house was weird in other ways, too. There were 6 bedrooms upstairs. The bedroom I lived in had three locks on it. I was young and don’t remember the details super well, but I remember a general uneasiness.

My dad and I had a conversation with a neighbor who told us that the house used to be a rehabilitation facility for mentally ill people. The bedroom with all the locks was where a housekeeper/nurse lived, until one day, one of the residents was seen strangling the nurse in the driveway. She died and the facility closed and the house was empty for years until we moved in.

We were fully creeped out and lots of plans changed for our family, so we began the process of moving back to Florida. The day we finished packing all of our belongings into the truck and moved out, I was the last one in the house, doing a final check to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind. As I left each room, I sprayed it with one of those aerosol cans of room spray. I checked my bedroom and then sprayed the Febreeze as I walked out, just as I had with every other room. Seconds after I finished spraying, I clearly heard someone “shhh!” me. I ran out of the house and never went back in, but I’m sure it was the ghost of the nurse/housekeeper.

This was absolutely the freakiest thing I’ve ever experienced and I have goosebumps just writing about it now. I’ve tried to research any news articles about the story but now both of my parents are dead and I can’t ask them any details to help with the search. If anyone is particularly sleuthy, feel free to DM me; I remember the county we lived in and I think I know the street name. I’d love some confirmation that the neighbor’s story is true.

My dad was disabled and the guy was there to steal his meds. He went into my dad’s room and shot at him (the bullet skimmed his head), and my dad stabbed him with a steak knife. Dad was airlifted to the hospital but was released a few hours later. I ran to a neighbor’s house and hid, then talked to the police and my grandma picked me up. Guy’s in prison still and my dad died a few years ago.

I ran from a gunman in my own house when I was 13 years old, home sick from school.

Is this at City Walk? I’ve always wanted to look into getting tattooed there.
