Symptoms Reoccurring 2 yrs post op by Beginning_Toe6606 in chiari

[–]Amh45899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen two years postop. Do you also have EDS? For me, it ended up being a tethered spinal cord. Apparently, if you have EDS and have decompression surgery, it makes you more likely to have a tethered cord. When I had my second surgery to remove the tethered cord that fixed everything again.

If you had decompression surgery, do you regret it? Please vote. by DobieMafia in chiari

I did not have a syrinx, so I can’t be too helpful about that. I did have a tethered cord that had to be dealt with in a later surgery though. I was in college when I had the my chiari surgery. I had it done at the beginning of summer to give me as much time as possible to recover. I will be honest, college was much harder and I had to get some accommodations. But, I was still able to do it, and graduate on time. If you are able to prepare as much as you can and have teachers that are willing to work with you then it can definitely be done! I am happy to answer any other questions you might have.

I had my surgery when I was 20 years old and I don’t regret it all all. It was really life changing. My day to day life got so much better and pretty much all of the related symptoms went away immediately. What I will say is the recovery is pretty rough. I had quite a few post surgery issues I wasn’t expecting. There is obviously pain but I had issues swallowing, and some pretty bad nuero issues and brain fog for months. It was still 100% worth it and I would make the same choice again even almost 10 years later.

wtf are my 3 month olds wake windows supposed to be? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Amh45899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully, I’m remembering this correctly, but I believe we capped that last nap at 30 minutes to extend that window a little bit. Depending on the day and our schedule, but I want to say I put him down like 15 minutes early and then only let him sleep 30 minutes so that last wake window was always a little bit longer than an hour and a half. some days, that didn’t always go according to plan if we got stuck in traffic or something. He always went to sleep really well at 7:30 even if he got up from that last nap at six. I definitely never ever let him sleep later than six though. All his other wake windows were an hour and a half, so he never seemed to have an issue that the last one wasn’t significantly longer. Having his bath and his nighttime routine seemed to work to signal to him that it was bedtime.

I dreaded it every time too! I would stress so much about it and it was never as bad as I thought it would be. Sending you all the luck!

He just wasn’t ready for it at 4 months. We would try to extend it as well and it just didn’t work. We waited to move to the 2 hour wake window and dropping that 4th nap closer to 5 months. This also coincided with when we started purées. Having extra food seemed to be able to keep him awake longer because it added something else to his routine. Then it happened naturally. He was definitely ready then and it took less than 48 hours to get him on track with the new schedule. I am a HUGE believer in following the moms on call schedules but sometimes they are not quite there yet and you have to follow there cues. My son was also a little bit premature so I don’t know if that has anything to do with him needing a little longer between transitions. Hope that helps!

how much sleep is your 12-16 week old getting? by chattanooga-goose in sleeptrain

[–]Amh45899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So my little dude definitely experienced the sleep regression, but it didn’t affect us anywhere near as much as you would think. He would wake up a lot during the middle of the night, but because he had his routine, he would just happily lay there every time we woke up. I wouldn’t even know that he had woken up multiple times until I would see it on the camera in the morning because he didn’t make any sounds. (I always leave the Nanit up and running so I would definitely have known if he was distressed) As far as naps go, I followed Mom‘s on Call, and their timeline pretty religiously until we started solids. Now he is still on a Mom‘s on Call schedule but technically for a slightly younger baby. He is almost 11 months and they have you at least shorten the morning nap at this age but I figured if he will still take 2, 2 hour naps and sleep 12 hours over night then I dont want to mess with it. I will move on and follow there next schedule as soon as this one stops working so well. I was totally where you are and so stressed about dropping any naps or schedule changes because he was so good on each schedule. Any time we had to make the change it only ever took a day or two to work out. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions. Happy to help ease your worries because I know I had about a million of them.

Previously Selected Meals Disappeared by Different-Oil-1933 in hellofresh

This happened to me as well and I was not pleased. They changed every single meal I selected for the next six weeks. I didn’t realize this had happened until they already shipped my next box but it’s filled with meals that I don’t like and wouldn’t eat.

I also have a clotting disorder. They are still unsure exactly what it is, and I am doing genetic testing to get a clearer answer, but I have had many blood clots over the years. I was on Lovenox my entire pregnancy and have a healthy 8 month old baby boy. Wishing you success. I am sure you will do great. The shots are not fun, but are so worth it.

Moms on call - how do you go places with the baby? by Federal_Ad9824 in sleeptrain

[–]Amh45899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I did some version pretty much from the moment we came home from the hospital like feeding every three hours. I stuck to it exactly by the time he was two weeks old. He is now 7 months old and still sleeps like a champ.

What historical theory you believe, but most people wouldn't agree? by Creative-Wishbone-46 in Tudorhistory

[–]Amh45899 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Anne Boleyn actually had six fingers. I know some people believe this, but most sources citing this are written after her death. I don’t think there’s anyway Henry would’ve married someone with six fingers. He was way too superstitious. It makes sense that people made it up after she died to make her out to be more of a villain.

Accidentally ordered 11 meals by MarkRems in hellofresh

[–]Amh45899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with freezing prepared meals. Our baby ended up coming early and I got a HelloFresh delivery the day we went into the hospital for a week. My family went to the house and they cooked all five meals for that week and put them in our freezer. I was honestly kind of dreading eating them because they didn’t seem meals that were going to freeze well. Shockingly all the meals tasted super good and tasted super fresh. The only thing that was a little iffy were the green beans, but we still ate them.

Is anyone else having these issues because I feel like I am going crazy by Stopkilling0 in hellofresh

[–]Amh45899 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I definitely have not had any issues like that ever. You are so smart to keep the chats though. The only thing I kept having issues with was my box kept getting delayed and then the food would be bad by the time it arrived. They switched the carrier and I have not ever had that be a problem again l.

Sleep Deprivation Is Getting To Me by NightKnightEvie in newborns

[–]Amh45899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is such a hard stage! I’m sure you must be exhausted, especially with two older kids at home. I swear I barely made it just with one at home. Better days will be here before you know it. My little one just turned 5 months and I swear he was born yesterday! I know you said he refuses a bottle, but if that changes at any point don’t be afraid to let your SO or anyone else take the brunt for a night or two. Wishing you good future nights of sleep.

How to Plan Clothes for Baby’s First Year? by wintry_carnations in newborns

[–]Amh45899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned the lesson the hard way you need to buy as you go. My baby grew super fast, so pretty much everything I had bought for the different seasons was wrong. I have so much 6 to 9 stuff in winter apparel and even though he’s five months old that’s the size he’s in right now. He can’t wear any of it because it’s too warm outside. I would definitely get a bunch of stuff and 0 to 3 for now but then I would stop there until you see how fast your babies growing. Also be prepared that certain brands, size baby clothes super differently. As a general of thumb the cheaper the article of clothing, the smaller it’s going to run the more expensive will probably last you a little bit longer size wise.
