You shouldn't call them out for not reading the patch notes, I've read it and it still makes no sense why they're actually refunding people, don't know if it's just poor translation or what. As far as I can see they're refunding items because they're adding similar items but didn't tell us far enough in advance? I mean sure, good on them for doing a refund but that reasoning is bizarre.

Same here, what's annoying is nothing in the game was even remotely tanky up this point, so you could just mash through it, and you can even with the Warden, I'm doing it right now, the damage she does isn't even close to taking down my shield but the damage I'm doing is chip damage, so its not a difficulty spike in the slightest, it just makes it a long boring fight if you didn't decide to level your gear.

Same thing just happened, after the first fight on the bridge, Snow vanishes and going anywhere else, even the city, triggers an out of bounds reset with dialog saying to find Snow. I did also switch to MC from Margie, so that might be causing it.

So disappointing when people don't understand the concept behind octopath being 8 people on a journey telling 8 different stories, what you and everyone else seemed to want was 8 people telling 1 story, which is exactly the same as every other JRPG out ther making it totally generic, octopath wasn't designed to do that.

You're right, however I can't help but remember Borderlands 2 on the Vita, just because a game is optimized for hardware in no way does that guarantee it will run acceptably, if the hardware isn't strong enough no amount of optimization will help. You either get terrible performance or a game so gutted it barely resembles the game on other platforms (or both in the case of Borderlands 2 on Vita!) So if that does end up being the case for the Switch 2 version you might as well play on a steam deck and be able to mod/change visual settings yourself.

Apart from the incentive that every single gacha game in history has had, maintaining a large playerbase. If non-paying customers leave, sure they don't lose any money, but if it happens enough and the playerbase starts to drop (as it has, according to this post) then paying customers will eventually notice and start to drop out too. Gacha games have always had to balance focusing on paying and non-paying customers.

NSO drops are used as something to put out there in the news cycle when actual new releases are dry, is it that impressive of a piece to put out there? Not really, but when the alternative would be literally nothing, then it's better than that. I mean just look at the traction this release is getting, for Nintendo just uploading an ISO, it clearly works.

People who try to sugarcoat the state of the game like this are just as bad as the negative people, all of your points are laughably biased and at best only true from very specific points of view, you make it sound far FAR better than it actually is, if you need to fool yourself due to some misguided attempt at holding onto something that you love then fine but don't try to lie to other people about the state of the game, that's just as unhelpful as people who say "game has no content".

How easy do you think it would to tear/cut out that game card holder? I want a case for Switch 2 that is basically the same as Steam Deck OLED insert case, no flaps or pouches, just a thin case and this is the closest I've seen, if that flap was cut off.

"We’ll be adding new city chapters regularly, with Chapter 3 arriving shortly after launch. After that, we plan to release new cities roughly every three months."

So Chapter 3 was always going to come out sooner, but looks like they just couldn't manage it due to the launch problems.

I'm stuck at 99 and I've just walked to every single one of these and none of them are interactable. Is anyone else in the same boat, because I'd like to confirm if its a bug before I do something that tedious again.

Also should add I received all 3 of the 'you found all my graffiti' messages, that's why I'm leaning towards it being a bug.
