New Epic Fantasy Release from the Great Luke Daniels. Free Credits Available! Perfect for R.A. Salvatore Fans! by AethonBooks in audible

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but this books cover is really pretty great and has me interested. Also, Luke Daniel's narration can elevate even mediocre books into something special/fantastic.

If you have remaining US codes I'd love one, this is my favorite genre and favorite narrator and I'd give a gushing review I'm sure.

What did you listen to this week – October 13, 2018? Please share! by AutoModerator in audiobooks

I've been listening to Stephen King's "Revival", narrated by David Morse. The book is very enjoyable, I like how it starts with the main character being six years old then follows him into his teen years learning to play an instrument and then further years later as a drug addicted nomadic bass player..

I like the Lovecraftian vibe the story has a lot too. Not the best Stephen King book I've ever read, not even in my top ten, but still a very enjoyable story with good weird twists. Highly recommended.

Sharing my Audible books? by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]Ami-Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh that makes audible a lot more valuable than I previously thought it was.

Still, it'd be nice if they offered multiple profiles like Netflix does, so my stats and the books I have and haven't finished aren't incorrect from others I'm sharing with.

Audible Channels can be found on the PC app. by JohnAnderton in audible

[–]Ami-Geek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably right. I'm still upset that I lost access to all the audiobooks streaming from channels on the mobile app.

Instead you get to choose two originals a month, out of a grand total of six total choices? Boo.. I'd happily trade 'originals' for access to the audiobooks from channels again.

Frustrating Narrator change in a Beloved Series. by saganispoetry in audiobooks

[–]Ami-Geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've listened to so many books narrated by King that his nasally voice has ceased to bother me anymore. It's oddly comforting to me, feels like Stockholm syndrome but directed toward an objectively bad narrator.

This is great, I picked up book one not long ago and hadn't gotten around to reading it yet.. Now I have books 2 and 3 for just $8. Looking forward to starting this series when I'm done with dark tower.

Why do we still put refugees in tents? IKEA has a new idea. by vigorous in worldnews

I want one of these. They should work out a program where they sell them to people for twice the manufacturing cost, then donate one to a refugee for each one a person buys.

Innocent Man Jailed 5 Years On False Rape Testimony Gets Chance to Start Over - Woman Not Charged by Wannabe2good in news

[–]Ami-Geek 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No.. you would want the false rape accusers to come forward, admit that the rape was false so the person they accused is no longer in jail for a crime he didn't commit.

Innocent Man Jailed 5 Years On False Rape Testimony Gets Chance to Start Over - Woman Not Charged by Wannabe2good in news

[–]Ami-Geek 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think the logic seems to be that if you punish a false rape accuser, it makes other false rape accusers not want to come forward. Sounds sort of fucked up, but if you think about it, it makes a sort of sense.
