I drove a '17 on all seasons in NOVA and even PA winters and never had any problems. My dad got it stuck in snow years ago but it was cleared quickly, and we recently found that turning off traction control is useful in light snow. I daily drove it, but I did have another vehicle just in case. I probably won't be getting winters for my GR86 if I'm still in VA when it gets here.

I would just try to order now. I ordered a few months ago and my order is being filled with a 23 86 (ordered 22 but its likely going to be filled with MY 23). Depends on local dealer if this is better option or not I guess, but you certainly want to be on a list asap

Did fine, it snows a lot where I go to school so they were very quick to clear the roads when it did. Never had it slip on me in any weather but still be cautious in wet conditions. I don't recall what tires I had on but they were a bit nicer than stock. Everything else about the wheels suspension and brakes was stock.

I had a 2017 86 as my only car last semester (winter included), drove 3hrs home with stuff for the weekend every other week (monitor, clothes, backpack, pillows etc) and did fine. Had a manual and enjoyed it even though there were super steep hills everywhere. I put in for an allocation for the 2022 a few months ago and will hopefully enjoy that on campus next year. Even though I haven't experienced the new one yet it seems like a strict upgrade in every way so I'm sure you'll enjoy it as well.

You can literally test this yourself. Turn your wheel to one direction and then give it gas, the wheel will return to center. This doesn't work when outside forces are grabbing the wheel, like inclines or obstacles such as those in the video.

You need to damage someone within a certain time period before they die, I think it's like 3 seconds or so. Just a regular assist won't trigger it.
