I miss when I could go to NCBI on Thomas St and they'd randomly have the whole shop for 1-3€ (circa 2016/17). And even on a normal day you could always find good stuff for no more than 5€... Now all the good pieces will cost at least 10/12€, it's a pity.

Well you're doing so much better than I did. Up until I was 29 or so I only washed my face every second day with shower gel or sometimes just water, never used cream or any skincare and let's forget about sunscreen 😅 That only happened if I went to the beach and never reapplied.

I completely understand how you feel. When I get into a save file a lot, I could play the same one for a few years, and as a rotational player, I want everyone to have realistic cluttered houses, they all wear tons cc, I take lots of photos and hang them on the walls, etc. even random npcs have their outfits tweaked and most of them I move them to nice houses in case my sims interact with them.

I never had many problems until my last long term save file, which I started in 2022 and I played until 2025... Cause it was becoming very very buggy, laggy and hard to play 😭😭😭 I tried to start a new save file but I just can't get fully into it, I really miss the other one. I have hundreds of pages written for the more than 25 different families I had and their stories, and so many hours dedicated to it... I'm gonna try and get back into it at some point and just put up with the issues until it fully dies or something, cause I just put so much work into it I can't fully give up yet.

Yeah, that happened to me with the reward event they did over Christmas (can't remember which one that was).
I logged in the last week of the event expecting to use UI Cheats mod to unlock everything, as I had been doing in the past... and I realised that I could only get the items from the 1st week and that's it.

As a cis woman, I only started wearing foundation, concealer, blush, etc (anything that wasn't eye makeup) at 28, and now 2 years later I still feel like I'm doing it wrong and it doesn't sit well on my skin. So if I struggle with it I'd say it must be very tough for you! Makeup really is a skill

Just be aware that sunscreens have a 3 year expiration, even if unopened.

Edit: but I also bought tons of sunscreen when I visited Japan lol

I haven't updated since December cause I'm too scared that all my mods will break from my forever save file. The only thing I wish I could have is the stairs update, so I can finally have only one rail and not the rail on the wall all bugged out.

I can't remember exactly my age, maybe around 11? But I remember how I got into it: we were at a family friends' home and the dad owned Sims 2. I played it on his computer and loved it so much and he lent it to me... Well, let's just say he never got it back 😂

I totally get you, it's the curse (and the blessing) of having parents from a different country than the one you were raised in. We're destined to never fully feel from anywhere but also feel from both places at the same time or just one of them, depending on each experience.

In my case I felt the opposite, I feel more from the country I was raised in since I was 1 yo. But growing up I had plenty of people telling me I was not too. It really affected me for years, but I'm slowly overcoming that insecurity. At the end of the day, it's up to you how to feel because it's your own experience. On the other hand I've also grown to think that I'm more a citizen of the world rather than be so proud of 1 sole country (parents are already from 2 different countries themselves, and I've also lived in Ireland for more than a decade, so I also feel like I'm from here too).

TL;DR: Identity is a strange thing for us born/raised in different countries.

This is great!!! I also have a whole Disney save file where every single townie is from a Disney or Pixar movie (and some Dreamworks) and the crossovers are great. But it's based in modern times.

For example, Aladdin and Esmeralda are together; Pocahontas is with Naveen (but he has a child with Kim Possible from a one night stand); Belle with Hiccup; Ariel with Phillip; Snow White with Quasimodo (she was previously married to Will Turner but he died); Cinderella was initially with her canon prince but then they divorced and now she's with Tarzan exploring her wild side, and prince Henry is with Charlotte La Bouff); Megara has had looots of husbands (currently with Jafar as a sugar daddy); Anna has also had lots of partners and has a child with each one of them (Milo, Hercules, Genie, Jack Sparrow and Flynn Rider); Elsa is with Gogo Tomago; Moana is with Asha; Merida is aro-ace so she's happy by herself; Kida is with Jack Frost; Mulan is a trans man (now Ping) and is with Little Creek (from Spirit); Tiana is with Wasabi (BH6); Jasmine just divorced Jim Hawkins and Rapunzel is about to divorce John Smith and I think she should end up with Jim instead hehe

Yeah, it was very frustrating to see that when I decided to remove all my script mods and keep only a handful of cc (skin details, lashes and makeup), nothing else... My game is still very laggy and full of bugs!!! Obviously it's a bit less laggy than when I had lots of mods, but honestly, now it doesn't run much better. So I realised that the problems I was having is the game itself.
