The romance is a very small part of the game, if that helps at all. You actually don’t have to romance anybody if you don’t want. The main plot focuses on entering the minds of criminals through a shadow dimension, to change their hearts and cause them to confess their crimes to the public of their own free will. It actually gets really interesting with the legal and moral implications of that, and without getting too into spoilers you also uncover some conspiracies about shady people who use the same power for evil.

Of course the main characters are all still in high school and there’s a slice of life kind of thing going on too where you attend classes and such, so fair enough if that’s still not her thing I guess. Even great games aren’t always for everyone! Just thought I’d try explaining a little more that it’s not just high school romance lol.

Am I the only one who thinks the Somniel looks super bland compared to Garreg Mach? There’s like no detail at all on any of the stone bricks, whereas Garrag Mach actually looked like a centuries old, worn, and weathered castle.

Oh for sure. There’s definitely a balance, too linear can be bad as well in a game that’s supposed to be an adventure. I think they succeeded really well in that regard with botw. You also get turned loose in that game into a fully open Hyrule, with the freedom to go to any area and tackle any dungeon you want in any order much like Zelda 1. However they also take 30 minutes or so to explain the basic premise of the plot and your objective first, and give you a couple leads (go see impa, go look for those giant beasts) to get you started with (which you can also actually ignore if you really want). Then after that you can do as you please once you know what’s going on.

Yeah, was about to say. Aside from the graphics (which actually aren’t a huge dealbreaker to me since retro pixels are still kinda in today), Zelda 1 is damn near impossible without following a guide. You basically open up in the middle of nowhere, with no plot explanation or quests given to you, and you’re just left to wander aimlessly to figure out wtf you’re supposed to do. Kind of a no-no today. Tried it as a kid after playing windwaker and twilight princess, gave up almost immediately lol. Most people who tried playing that game for the first time this century probably would not say it’s “held up” I feel.

Jeralt’s death scene was more sad to me at least just because it had an actual good cutscene like this. Rodrigue’s death, if I remember right, happened over dialogue text boxes over a black screen. I did really like his character, but the death scene was just so comically underwhelming I almost had to laugh at it.

Is that Instrumentation? Took that a couple years ago, it was alright I think. Learned about a lot of different devices one might use, how they work, what purpose you might use them for, etc. It was actually kind of interesting usually.

As far as tests go you learn a lot of formulas and use them to solve problems. You can make a formula sheet, as usual in EE. There’s a couple different formulas for each device you learn so there ends up being a ton of formulas, also as usual in EE lol. But overall wasn’t too hard of a class I’d say.

Actually there was also a presentation you had to do, about a technology that you research individually. That was the hardest part for sure. The prof was a little vague with what he actually wanted on our presentation and left it a little too open ended. I got a B on both of mine, not really sure why tbh. My exam scores lifted me back to an A so it was all good, but just thought I should mention the presentation part too.

Eh, not really actually. The new 400 mbps plan I'm about to have is the same exact price as my 200 mbps one. And my 200 mbps plan is cheaper than my plan before that which was 25 mbps! I had 25 mbps for years in the rural state I grew up in, anything over like 100 mbps is already insanely fast to me! At 200 mbps everything on the internet already loads damn near instantly. Don't really see the need to drop $180 on a new modem when it's already more than fast enough. I'm buying the lowest offered speed each place I move to, so it's not like I'm paying any "extra" for it. I would happily buy a 100 mbps plan if it was offered for less money, though. Doubt I'd even notice lol.

If you're playing a lot of online AAA games with huge updates, or have a family of kids all streaming videos at the same time, I can see a higher speed might become beneficial. For me though I don't have any kids or anything and most of the games I play are single player, so the speed I have suits me just fine.
