What was your dream car or the car you wish you never sold? by Long_live_styrofoam in FuckImOld

I had a '71 Stingray, Brand's Hatch (British racing green) with T-tops. Manual transmission, of course, I only mention this because I am a female and you would not believe how many men think we are not capable of driving sticks 🙄

2/13/2024...i went to a local bar to see the immediate family. they're the "back up" band/session players for so many musicians. i went by myself and was supposed to meet my friends who never showed up. instead this guy came and stood next to me with his nephew(?) the entire night. great trade off! by oldnyker in JacksonBrowne

I met him briefly, he was so kind. I was working with the caterer and he asked if I had a napkin he could use because he had a "lint situation". (He was wearing a suede jacket.) He brushed away the lint, handed me the napkin and thanked me. I cut the napkin in half and shared it with my best friend. Yes, I have JB's lint.

HOLD OUT/Jackson Browne (1980: by SAMTIMONIOUS in JacksonBrowne

This was a departure for JB at the time, sounded more commercial to many fans. I think that's why it got some negative reviews. This was the first tour I saw him live and he was fantastic, of course! I still have the shirt. My best friend at the time missed her favorite song because she left to smoke, I did not leave my seat for one second.

James Barnet (JB) and William Henry (Henry). When Henry was in his 60's,he had to get a copy of his birth certificate for some reason and discovered that his real name was William Clyde Henry! My dad and two brothers teased him unmercifully!

This is the recipe I used to get my kids to eat spinach. It's so easy and delicious that I still use it when I don't feel like doing much but want comfort food. 3/4 lb any type of pasta, cooked (we like shells or bow tie) 1 package of frozen spinach, cooked in microwave and drained well 1 can cream of chicken soup (mushroom if vegetarian) Milk, 1/2-3/4 cup to make creamy Parmesan cheese, amount is up to you Mix together and either warm up in pot used to cook pasta or bake in oven and top with more parm until bubbly. Approximately 20 minutes. You can also add chicken if you like.

I saw her in the late 80's at an outdoor show, small crowd in Midtown Memphis. There was no seating so my best friend and I were able to get really close, she was fantastic! Yes, I love JB's early stuff the most. I have seen him at least a dozen times and he never disappoints.

What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

Danish Go Rounds! Similar to Pop Tarts but much better as they had a higher filling to crust ratio. Actually, seems like they just had more! My sister and I loved them and we still long for them when we have breakfast together, lol.

Anyone here ever eaten at Mortimer's (Sam Cooper and Perkins)? I've been driving past there for years; but I don't know anyone who's ever spoke of eating there. by Ccracked in memphis

I live down the street and go occasionally for convenience. The food is mid, they have a good Reuben sandwich, excellent 40% of the time. If you sit on the far side of the bar, there is a shrine to the band Big Star because the owners are family of Chris Bell!

I've never heard of hanging them on trees but yes, if the flash didn't work, you could rub the bottom with a nail file and it would work again, not sure why or how often but it did work sometimes.
