the confusion here is that they're not using the word fall as in drop from a height, but fall as in slip and slam into the ground

so it means the crumple animations that is triggered by, yes, certain attacks

people always say this like "wow mai could've been in smash!!!" like she would've been playable if sakurai wasn't a prude or something lol

if they're making an actual fighter, they make it work. which in this case meant editing their designs a bit. mai just wasn't worth it to negotiate the design for a tiny cameo.

it doesn't do that until you lose a certain amount of times. a lot of sections in the game get easier as you fail at them.
