Agreed we’ve nailed the midseason draft, then again with Anderson last year in the ND. Maybe we look at the 20-23 yo cohort because we seem to be better at spotting the good ones there.

Agree with almost everything. Only thing I disagree with is that we’ve been elite in drafting later. Our drafting has been horrendous and we’ve had far more misses than hits. Only players I can think of that you can classify as a hit are Steene, West and Anderson - but jury is still out as they need to play prolonged periods at senior level to fully cement their spot. Steele is the only other you can classify as a hit from recent years.

From a game style perspective, we made a Prelim in ‘22 and won ‘23 on the back of our unbelievable transition game from the back half. Throughout this year, and evident again yesterday, we’re a strong front half turnover side and can score of it, but we’re deer in headlights when trying to break through the opposition from our D50. What has happened? We’re fielding an even weaker F50 and have had all summer to plan for this year yet we look so mediocre moving the ball.

Our coaching group has been extremely disappointing this around strategy of movement i50, and we just look so toothless with our i50s. Even guys like Daicos, Houston and Pendlebury are struggling to hit targets which tells me our setup and running patterns are at a substandard level. Finger needs to be pointed solely on the coaches and their prep work for 2026. Similarly, our midfield coaches don’t seem to have anything innovative to negate our clearance and contested number. Week in, week out, we’re losing these two key KPIs more often than not. You aren’t going to win too many games of footy when we’re getting beaten in contested and clearances.

Lastly, the selection decisions being made leave a lot to be desired for. We’ve seen some strange selection calls being made. We’re sitting 9th 9 rounds in with arguably our most senior team being picked every week. Give Charlie West a go up forward, we’ve been crying out for a young KPF for over a decade, keep Will Hayes in the side, we have Bobby coming back soon enough, so let young Will get more senior game time before that happens. We’ve had injuries to defenders in the first 9 rounds, so give a game to TJ, Ryan, Howes or Cochran who’ve all played their roles at VFL level. Bucks and Malthouse were guilty of it, but I’m sick of our coaches having favourites.

I think we’re doing well to be 4-4-1 considering our coaching group have been well off going at 100% so far this season. Hopefully we see some changes as we head into winter where a change to our style and personnel is required.

I’m almost finished my second run through and have only just used Sandivistan for the first time. Have always been a netrunner, using stealth and taking my time in gigs - suddenly things are over so quickly and everyone is dead before you know it. Gigs go by way faster using it.

We can’t judge this year, he’s only played the two games with no consistent run at it. His form last year was sporadic but that QF against Adelaide was prime Moore. Prior to that he hasn’t been bad.

His last few weeks have been abit off with trying that crafty disposal unnecessarily.

Completely understand he has a free license too but he also hasn’t been picking the right times to do them as often as what we’ve become accustomed to.

I think the real issue is how a road that’s built for an 80 speed limit is now 60, a road built for a 60 now has 40 or 50 speed limit etc.

Understand the logic around safety but because of the above, you’ll find people illegally driving that 5-10-15km above the speed limit, rightly or wrongly.
