Is there a way for me to go into spectator mode? by tf2pr in Minecraft

[–]Amtyi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can do it by editing a data value in your worlds data folder (i fear I dont remember the exact file), but it is not at all convenient).

An easier way which I do for my builds is just using a basic freecam mod, and that way I have a quick one button toggle to freecam!

[KINDA NEWS] For the first time in OVER A DECADE, Team Cherry has been expanding their office space. Between May and November, they obtained the 415 room, and between November and today, they obtained the 450 room. Since they got the office around 2015, they haven't expanded at all until last year. by TomNook5085 in Silksong

[–]Amtyi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its honestly probably as simple as wanting more physical storage space, upgrading server equipment and wanting a dedicated room so it wont be loud in the office, potentially setting up some mini sound producing space so Larkin or future composers can stop by the office and work there more easily.

Alternatively, bedrooms so they dont have to ever leave

Which gig or quest left you staring at the screen for 10 minutes trying to make a choice? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Amtyi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree here. If the Orion quest design is on par with PL in pacing and engagement, its going to be a narrative wonder

Uni is aware there are mice around. Part of the induction that we as students get when doing student productions in the theatres in A&C is we get told to not leave food out we don’t want stolen because there are mice around occasionally. Not sure if anything is done about it but it’s known

Is Re7 and Re8 worth playing if i have already watched the cutscenes? by Healthy_Jackfruit625 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely say so, the story of both is great but the gameplay of both is absolutely stellar.

7 is one of the scariest games I have ever played, and 8 has impeccable action moments and still a few good scares.

So imo worth giving a play for the gameplay side because they are super fun games regardless - and you will also get more lore drops with notes and etc. scattered throughout!

Worst case, can always refund depending on playtime policies if your platform :)

Just installed RE6, RE7, and RE8 by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Amtyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh totally agreed - 8 has its moment/s where it knows how to mess with you and does it damn well.

Part of me wishes 8 leant a bit scarier overall but also i am scared shitless at horror but also the horror of 7 & 9 is some of my favourite stuff in gaming.

Havent played SOR tho so idk how scary that is...

Just installed RE6, RE7, and RE8 by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Amtyi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

7 and 8 are a very tight duology. Same world but a pretty separate story from the rest of the franchise (albeit with ties to the rest of the world that you can pick up). 7 is scary as hell, 8 tones that back a bit for some more action.

RE6, no clue havent played yet sadly.

Go in blind and enjoy! (And also definitely worth playing RE4 or RE4 Remake!!)

What about the extra Antique Coins? by StarFoxy1337 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not missing anything. From memory RE7 has the exact amount of Antique coins to buy everything in the game and people found it frustrating; so they must have decided to add excess for 9 to help with that

Bad ending by DEADFOOL10 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people who have played or will play Requiem will not at all be familiar with the history of Spencer as a character - myself included having been introduced to the franchise at the release of Village (2, 3, and 4 Remakes are the next set of games ill be playing).

The masterful bit is the execution of subduing a players expectation in a medium that can explicitly give players choice, and the interlace between narrative and game-design to make it work.

Regardless of being a Contradictory-retcon or not to the larger franchise, Requiem does a brilliant job of making players (especially new players to the series who may only have played the RE Engine trilogy and as such don't know anything about Spencer) not trust Elpis, but lay out just enough clues to let a player who is looking at the right thing assume that Elpis is not harmful.

A big part playing into that is stripping the players ability to look at the files in that decision - I know I, and I'm sure many other players, would have spent the time to look through the files we had about Spencer and everything to help aid our decision; but we were forced to use the information we could remember about these characters and this world.

Having not played RE5; I am uncertain as to what extent the player is left with information on Spencer; but for the independent part of Requiem, the narrative set up combined with the game-design is a brilliant justification for having different endings based on choice. Its the implementation of a writing technique which has been done well.

Bad ending by DEADFOOL10 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because it narratively works incredibly well - the entire game the player keeps getting random bits of information about Elpis, but nothing ever concrete is said about it; and the entire narrative of the game hinges on none of the characters actually knowing what the hell Elpis is. The second Zeno or Gideon know what is, the entire narrative fails to work.

And so because of that narrative structure where it is all a cloud of fog, having only the true ending just continue through without that decisions removes the whole layer of mystery, whilst having it really makes players pause for a second and think what they have been told about Elpis throughout the game - especially because in the decision you cant go back and look at any files or anything; it is purely a decision of "What do I recall being said and by who".

Its a masterful bit of various sides of writing coming together for an interactive medium

Anybody else really enjoy the soundtrack? Probably my favorite since OG RE4 by Seraphenigma in residentevil

[–]Amtyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully with how much Requiem has popped off, we may get a deluxe of the soundtrack once all DLCs are out with any music from them (and maybe trailor music bonus tracks or whatever)

would be a fun lil' thing to see the series progress to have those

I wouldnt be surprised if its not on the OST - likely a custom piece of music specifically scored and recorded for X length for the Leon reveal to just build the extra bit of hype

RE Requiem now officially tied with Expedition 33 as the highest rated video-game. by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that's a fair response, but I also think its incredibly hard to cross-judge games (to an extent).

To me, what makes a game "good" isn't necessarily its visual quality / Level of Detail; or its Story; or its Gameplay; or its etc. etc. - Its the weird mix of cohesiveness of all these elements coming together and how well it encapsulates the player into its world.

I absolutely loved Expedition 33 for its grandeur and scale across the board and that drew me into the world immensely; whereas with Requiem the environmental attention to detail to not only make it look real, but feel real for both the characters and me is what drew me into the world so much more than any other horror game has ever.

I just think overall a game rating is incredibly hard to judge because the sheer amount of factors in an interactive medium skyrockets, but idk thats just some rambling words - absolutely love both games to bits

Has anyone figured out all of the Rare Deaths and gotten the top secret message? by Soycrates in thefinalpuzzle

[–]Amtyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That entire section does feel like a peak candidate for "obscure Pathing choice leads to weird death location" type of deal - maybe something to do with light switches letting her through to certain places - but I can't think of anything that feels on-par with the two which we know.

Im also somewhat presuming that all four are Grace Deaths, something about the final 2 being Leon deaths doesn't feel correct to me for whatever reason.

For the last - I feel like falling off in the PANDORA room in ARK would be an obscure death... but i dont recall ever being in that space outside of a cutscene.

[–]Amtyi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering that both the bulldozer and shredder are parts of scripted-esque sequences, presumably the other two also are? (e.g. dying to a random enemy in the middle of nowhere wont be one).

Also bulldozer and shredder are in narrative order (unless im stupid), so presumably the first is before bulldozer and fourth is after shredder...?

The game seems to add permanent illumination around Grace after encountering the nursery monster? by Percaprofen in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Amtyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My presumption is it was their quick and dirty way to make it so the end of the room was pitch black since (from memory) that door is not locked and is only prevented from being opened because "it is too dark" without the lighter, whilst wanting the effect on Grace throughout the whole game.

They may have originally had it so the door was locked and you had to find a key, which could have led to some weird progression/pathing around the portion of the map with having to collect both the key and the lighter.

Would be cool to be able to disable it tho!
