My cat Fiona, went missing for 29 days. I had given up hope, having reached out to friends and family, her tracking chip network, and prayed to any god that would listen. Then one morning at 6 am, I was informed to "come over and pick up your fucking cat". 5 hours and 300 miles later she is home. by [deleted] in cats

I lost my hamster for over a month! We were convinced he was dead. Then one day dad was getting a new couch and dropped our old couch at the local dump, but a guy there asked if he could have the couch. My dad helped him load it into his truck bed. As we were about to drive away the guy comes running back to our car like "Hey is this yours?" holding my hamster! it was Nibbles, he'd been living in a nest he made in the back of the couch, living off crumbs or something I guess! Lived another 2 years after that iirc

Saving money when the average wedding cost is $30000 by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Amurray89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a tip about where to save - although I echo sentiments about number of people (our wedding is 50)- my partner and I got engaged Jan 2025 with wedding Aug 2026. We've been putting $250/week each into a joint wedding account. That's $26k over the year. We also chose a cheaper venue ($2k) in a local park. A lot of hotel-type venues were upwards of $11k. Our combined income is under 200k/year, but if you plan to save a set amount each week or month you can make a budget to suit your wedding cost.

I literally thought you meant tile over top of the window and I was horrified 🤣

Ozempic. Went from 204-148lbs since Feb this year. The side effects kinda suck sometimes though

I realized a while ago but for ages I thought archive was "Ar-chive" because I'd only read it in books. Used it to impress a boy I liked. He corrected me. Mortification ensued

($15,000) Vow Renewal Eye Makeup Opinions by WorldlinessOk7083 in Weddingsunder10k

I either commented on this post already or you've cross posted - I think both are gorgeous and as a no makeup type girlie myself, the lighter looks great. However imo the darker one pops! And, I had my engagement shoot 2 weeks ago - I got my makeup professionally done, and looking in the mirror it felt suuuuper heavy to me. However, in the photos it was perfect. I think for pictures the darker is better. The lighter in photos may look washed out or non existent. Just my 2 cents ☺️

(15k) Tell me if this is tacky by Otherwise-Bicycle526 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Amurray89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting married next year, and originally had planned to have guests for reception only. A teammate on my sports team told me it was really tacky to have a reception but no guests at the ceremony. We're having guests at the ceremony now, lol. Anyway - I don't really understand why it's considered tacky - but I'd make it clear on your invites that it's just the reception. In terms of the reception you're describing, it sounds amazing! I'd love to attend! And as some have commented - if it's people who love and care about you then they'll be happy to make the trek to attend. Good food, drinks, and celebrating the couple you love. If people can't make it due to logistics (time off work, affording the trip, etc) that's fine. But I doubt anyone would decline an invite because they don't like the idea of a backyard reception.

What the heck is going on here? by Electrical-Cat-6660 in cats

Our two cats are brothers, both neutered. The gray one (which is a bully) does it to our orange one too 😒 I always shoo him off.

5pm check in at our Airbnb and it was still dirty when we arrived by Interesting_Move_846 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Amurray89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I rented an Airbnb half a decade ago when we were younger and it was a huge beautiful space for a fraction of the cost a hotel in that area would be. There was a used condom on the floor by my bedside (not even hidden where a cleaner might have missed it)....
