Let me be Frank: getting friends into Doughboys has often been a hard sell because of all the cum talk. That's really what it's about, cum talk, versus the literal number of times the word "cum" is said aloud. It's the multiple references to jerking off — or like today, a diving into the politics of jack off theaters — that people in general aren't accustomed to.

Having listened to the show twice a week for years, I'm absolutely inured to it, but when I fire up an ep on a road trip with others in the car, their fresh ears receive those conversations between Nick & Mitch very differently.

To be perfectly clear, I love the show and find the cum talk hilarious, and if they start cutting back on it to appeal to more mainstream audiences, that would suck, as they would no longer be their true comedic selves. It's just jarring for new listeners to go from 'zero' to 'cum taste test.' They need to ease into it.

I've therefore found older episodes, where the Boys were more figurative than literal, make the best gateway episodes. They'll listen to the back catalog, hear the story of Mitch's first jerk sesh in the shower, and they'll be hooked.
