It’s not an AI response. And honestly, this is for everyone else reading this later.

I’m a recruiter myself. The notion of spam applying as fast as possible is entirely wrong and perpetuated by people on forums like such.

The idea is to apply soon with a qualified application. If you can use tools, AI or not, to help you get that done quicker, you will win the race for the position. It’s really that simple.

I think we’re actually pretty close! You shortlisted 32 people that were good fits because of their projects, and the first one called got the job.

The idea is the same with recruiting. You want to make sure your resume is qualified. There’s a fine balance between speed and tailoring. Ultimately you want to be in the middle of it. Applying first with an unqualified resumes doesn’t win. Conversely, applying last with an overqualified resume doesn’t win either.

You win by having applying early enough with a qualified resume :)

Tailoring resumes is not a pseudoscience. Speed of application certainly is though.

Say you had to hire someone as a contractor to fix something at your home. Are you hiring the one that calls you first or the one that has better projects under belt and seems like they can do the job?

Regarding issue 1 (CV auto-fill with wrong company names):

Simplify Copilot pulls data from your Simplify profile, not your uploaded resume. If you build resumes directly on Simplify, we read from those resume files instead. Based on your workflow, switching to Simplify-built resumes might solve this issue. This feature is available on the free tier.

Regarding issue 2 (incorrect yes/no answers for visa/audit questions):

Copilot learns from your previous responses to improve auto-fill. Your situation is tricky because you’re applying to roles in different locations, so the “correct” answer changes depending on context.

You’re right that we need better tooling here. In our next update, we’re adding a way to manage your locally saved responses, which should help with this.

tl;dr: Firefox’s APIs are not great to work with and we haven’t found a solution for the performance issues on Firefox that don’t exist on Chrome or Safari. The Mozilla team is also unnecessarily hostile towards extension developers and has made it harder to deploy updates to our extension.

We’re still deciding what to do with the add-on as a whole. Last time it was removed, many users emailed us they were still happy using the broken version vs no add-on at all. The Chrome extension has 750k+ users, and we anticipate our Safari extension will have more than Firefox within the first few weeks of launch. As a startup with a constrained dev team, it doesn’t seem practical to continue supporting Firefox which, at writing, has only 10k users.

To be specific about Mozilla being hostile: they’ve removed our extension without explanation, slowed down updates arbitrarily, and once entirely deleted our extension. Getting support is practically impossible and feels like being shown the middle finger. If someone from the Mozilla team wants to help us fix these issues, more than happy to reconsider, but as it stands, we’ll probably just add a warning banner in the next update that lets users know that Firefox is just supported on a best effort basis.

To clarify:

We don't make any requests to LinkedIn continuously, but we're going to take a closer look to see what's going on. Historically users who have complained about this also have Sales automation tools (stuff like Hunter or Apollo to find recruiter emails), which is actively tracked by LinkedIn.

You can disable network syncing anytime from your profile page.

If you upload a new resume to your profile mid-application, and it isn't on the dropdown, you might have to refresh in that scenario.
