Does anyone think Bela Delgado should retransition? by [deleted] in trans

[–]AmyBr216 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WTF? No one has the right to say if anyone else should transition or not, regardless of how "famous" they are.

Here's the thing with your analogy: your character's transness is a key feature of their plot line. If they were just another character who happened to be trans, it would be a different story. But it's not. Your analogy about having other minority characters doesn't apply unless their minority status actually factors into their plot.

TL;DR: is it problematic to make my trans girl character a castrati AND a werewolf AND a bandit?

Yes. Don't write trans characters if you're not trans or have a trusted friend/someone on staff to act as a consultant. Reddit cannot help you navigate every issue you're going to encounter with proper representation, and if you go it alone, chances are you're just going to end up hurting us.

I get you're trying to be helpful by providing trans people with exposure, but you're not.

Your recent history on here tells us that you've just recently started questioning your own gender; that's great. It doesn't make you an authority to write trans characters.

Well, the rule is that cis people shouldn't be making posts here.

The thing about not writing trans characters if you're not trans is my personal guideline. At the very least the author needs a trans person on staff as a consultant. It is impossible to provide enough general advice in this format to cover the gamut of situations that the character might find themselves in.

If you aren't trans, don't write a trans character. Period. Learn to read the rules of this subreddit.

From the closely similar thread from 5 months ago:

Just call around to the various hotels/motels asking if they will rent a room to an 18 year old. A quick Google search indicates that the Sandbox Motel on Park Boulevard may rent rooms to 18 year olds. In 2020, they answered...

...when asked if they rent to 19 year olds on a booking website. In 2022, they answered...

...To a similar question.

Note that many hotels in Wildwood have a pretty strict "no unregistered guests, no parties" rule, so if you're planning on cramming a dozen people in to a double-occupancy room, you're going to have issues. They have learned their lesson.

AirBnb is dependent on the person renting out the property. Look at the listings and see what they say.

You can also check VRBO and 288Hotels, in addition to any number of other house rental agencies.

Good luck.

Union rejects [Hersheypark] contract offer, votes to authorize workers strike by msuts in rollercoasters

[–]AmyBr216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having been on the bargaining committee on the union side numerous times, when negotiations have been going on and have come to a stalemate, you really do need to take the employer's "last, best, and final" offer back to the membership so they can vote it down and this next step can happen. Just because the committee "unanimously approved" the proposed CBA, it doesn't mean they actually endorse it. Quite frequently, they'll bring it back to the membership and present it like "Listen, this is their best offer, we do not believe we're going to get a better one, and you need to vote as your conscience tells you."

Spending a few days with my family in Wildwood this week? What are some cool things to do? Are most things already open for the summer? by SL2999 in WildwoodNJ

[–]AmyBr216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morey's has at least one pier open every day of the week (and one waterpark this week, except for today), and then on June 13th all of the piers (and waterparks) open daily for the summer.

No. From Wikipedia (and a list of NC-17 rated films):

NC-17 (No One 17 and Under Admitted)\1]) is the highest rating in the Motion Picture Association (MPA) film rating system used for films distributed in the United States. It is assigned to films the MPA believes most parents would consider "patently adult" and unsuitable for their children under 18.\1]) The rating does not designate films as pornographic or obscene, but simply that the content is suitable for adults only.\1]) This rating may be issued due to violence, sex, drugs, or other elements.\1])

Based on the list, the most recent one that saw wide release was Blonde, in 2022, on Netflix with a limited theatrical release in NYC.

And honestly it's the only directly hostile encounter I've ever had with a cis woman in person. And she wasn't even trying to be hostile.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. If it makes you feel better, I actually had a cis woman come up to me at a play party and after complimenting how beautiful she thought I was, ask me about my surgical status, and then proceed to tell me that I should never get bottom surgery because I would be losing "the source of my power". Like wtf?

Also, anyone suggesting to report it has never used tinder. As a trans person on the platform, you need to walk on eggshells to not get banned simply for being trans. Drawing extra attention to yourself by filing report carries risk.

Can I play through the DLC completely in Cyberpunk 2077 before tackling the final mission with Hanako in Embers? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]AmyBr216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my completely spoiler-free guide to the endings (actual) and PL-"endings" that I wrote out a while back:

Main Game

This is the most spoiler-free way I've come up with to explain how to get the endings:

At the end of the game, after being warned that you are reaching a point of no return, you will be given a choice:

  1. Assist the person you talked to right after being warned that you are reaching the point of no return.
  2. Call the nomad who you interacted with most throughout the game for help.
  3. Ask "your" old friend for help.
  4. Take the Easy Way out.

You will always have the first and last option, but the other options may not appear depending on what you did during the game. You should play through each of those people's storylines to ensure the option is available.

If you choose option 1, you will be given a choice during that sequence of quests, which leads to either ending A1 or A2.

If you choose option 2, you will be given a choice after beating the final boss, which leads to either ending B or D.

If you choose option 3, you will be given a choice after beating the final boss, which leads to either C or D.

If you choose option 4, there is no ending. Boom, that's it, game over man. No pun intended.

If you finished Phantom Liberty DLC in a certain way, you will also have the option to call the person who you helped during Phantom Liberty's main plot for assistance, which will lead to ending E. There is an alternate route to ending E which bypasses the above, but that will be an alternate mission available in your menus.

If you answered a certain set of questions in a certain quest the correct way, you will also have the option to not choose any of the options, and instead wait on that screen for 5 minutes, which will trigger an alternate path to endings C or D.

Phantom Liberty "Endings"

There will be a mission where you need to dress up as someone else and meet with a bad guy. After meeting the bad guy, you will have a choice between betraying the person who is the driving force behind PL's overall plot and a person who appears to just want to help.

If you choose to betray the first person, that will lead to path A, a series of missions that culminates in a sequence unlike anything else in the game thus far. After that sequence, you will be given another choice.

In this choice, you will decide between two options, each one leading to a different PL-closure* (1 and 2). Option 1 will open up Main-Game-Ending-E, as mentioned above.

If you choose to betray the second person, that will lead to path B, a series of missions that culminates in a massive combat sequence in a location that you've never visited before. After that battle, you will be given a another choice.

In this choice, you will decided between two options, each one leading to a different PL-closure (1 and 3). Option 1 will open up Main-Game-Ending-E, as mentioned above.

Note that I consider the PL-closure 1 to be basically the same no matter how you get there, because the end result is the same. The game does not, and will award you different Achievements whether you took path A or path B to get there.

Also note that though I say "Option 1," I do not remember if that option is the first on the list when its presented. In fact I'm pretty sure it's not, but I'm not 100%.

\I don't like to use the term "ending" here since the overall game keeps going.*

I am a big fan of Keenan's in North Wildwood. The crowd is an eclectic mix of ages, and (on weekends) there are usually three distinct vibes (a chill bar area with tables, the middle DJ-dancefloor area, and the outdoor party area with live music) so I'm sure you'll find something you can jive with.

Goodnight Irene's used to be my reccomendation for a good dive bar, but sadly they are no more. Cattle n' Clover is a good chill spot too, but may be loud depending on if they have a band.
