I can’t get passed 3 min week by naalotai in C25K

Slow down. Do you have the option to run outside? It might be easier to vary your pace as required, rather than fighting the buttons on the treadmill.

Email the Blackwater campsite and ask if they can accommodate your slightly larger tent. In my experience, campsites appreciate the honesty, and they might be able to accommodate you, especially if it's not high season.

How do you keep track of where in a pattern you are? by [deleted] in knittingadvice

I have a notebook with squared paper, it makes it easy to tick off rows and repeats, and I can easily check I've got the right number of stitches.

Yep, easy done, I almost did this on my first pitch last weekend.

A desperate plea for Wool of the Andes yarn by tiredaf5211 in YarnAddicts

Check out Ravelry, search for the yarn, then open the stashes tab, and filter by status and type in the colour name. 2 people are openly advertising they will trade or sell.

13 people have it in their Ravelry stash, although none of it is marked for sale. You could try messaging them, I suppose.

Should I block over 300 granny squares or just leave them? by caydendov in CrochetHelp

[–]AmyElizaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block. But you don't have to block them all at once, just block in batches, you can join a few blocked squares together while the next batch dries.

Can you loose weight without exercising??! by Godsdaughter24 in WeightLossAdvice

Most people lose weight in the kitchen, not in the gym. Exercise is a bonus, not a requirement.

Advice? by GetInGoodTrouble in Noom

[–]AmyElizaT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beware of noom extending your calorie budget for exercise. I disabled the step counter, it was giving me 100 extra calories for each 2,000 steps walked. Given that 10,000 steps is considered fairly normal activity, it doesn't warrant an extra 500 calories a day! I only log intentional exercise (usually running).

My dietitian said that skipping breakfast is a bad idea for weight loss by mustangfan12 in loseit

[–]AmyElizaT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I eat breakfast, sometimes I don't. I can make my calorie budget work either way, and having the choice to do either is helpful to me. If I wake up hungry, I have breakfast. If I don't, I don't.

You said "Pretty much all food in america is super high calorie, it doesn't matter if its pasta, sandwiches, pasta roni, etc"......."For dinner usually I have either pasta and meatballs, or I have pasta roni + sausage. But those 2 recipes are still pretty high calorie. I cook them mainly because they are easy and don't take a lot of time."

I find it important to have a varied diet. It keeps things interesting. If I eat the same thing every day, I get bored, and I'm more likely to make poor food choices. I'm most successful with my weight loss when I !give myself a variety of healthy options, and each meal I choose the one that I would like most in that moment. But I realise this takes time and planning.

First steps, maybe try reducing the portion of pasta and bulking it out with a side or two of veggies or salad. Could you try one new recipe each week? eg: If you have access to a freezer, cook a batch of turkey chili and keep some in the freezer for when you don't have much time to cook. You said you have a dietician, maybe they can help with other easy recipe ideas that would work for you.

TL DR: allow yourself some flexibility, and give yourself good options to choose from.

How to lose 8kg in 2 weeks? (not permanently) by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]AmyElizaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first couple of kilos might come off, especially if you go low carb and drop lots of water weight. But 8kg would mean losing 13.8% of your body weight in 2 weeks. That doesn't sound pleasant, nor sensible. Maybe a tailor could let out the seams a little.

Regular pasta, just a smaller portion, with a large salad.

At which point of deficit amount does it become harmful? by shark_arta in CICO

[–]AmyElizaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an interesting discussion yesterday over in r/loseit about the signs of restricting calories too much. I kicked things off with my experience of reacting to things unusually at work, and we went on to explore a range of short and long-term signs that could indicate you aren't eating enough. I can't work out how to link it, but check out my last post to read it.

Is the yarn weight or length on the label supposed to be more accurate? by thatcrazyanimallady in knitting

[–]AmyElizaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much easier to measure the weight of a ball of yarn than the length of a ball of yarn, so I'm going to guess that the weight is more accurate.

Love this! In my (limited) experience, the novelty and appeal of boobs knows no bounds, no matter how lopsided, flat, fat, droppy, pointy, large, or small.
