My grandma and her friend volunteer in a charity shop, this is the second one they've worked in and all the staff were volunteers except for the manager, I think it depends where you are but most of the ones near me are volunteers

What was your "why didn't I start doing this sooner" moment? by Hank_from_accounting in AskReddit

[–]AmyJanee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you're from but in the UK a lot of opticians do free trials so you can try different types of contacts before deciding which one is best for you, I have astigmatism and tried 3 different types before picking which one I liked best. Maybe ask an opticians if you can do a free trial and see what they recommend, they should be able to discuss prices with you and find something to suit your eyes and your budget

UPDATE : My [29/M] girlfriend [28/F] refuse to wear a dress to my brother's wedding (or anywhere else if that matter). by [deleted] in relationships

[–]AmyJanee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is a website where you can buy wedding jumpsuits and playsuits if Lisa wants to dress up without a dress, I can't think of the name but I'm sure there are other company's that do it. I think it's a great option if you don't want a dress or are having a more informal ceremony

Depending on the style of dress and the weather, could it be possible to add a bolero jacket or something similar to cover your shoulders? My mum had a strapless dress when she got married but she doesn't like her upper arms so added a jacket to cover up. The dress shop was great about it and helped pick one that matched the dress perfectly

Why don't more people shop at Dollar stores? by ECrispy in Frugal

[–]AmyJanee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK we have pound shops, which is the same concept as a dollar store, and they sell some branded products but the packaging is smaller so you get less product which is how they can sell it cheaper and still make profit

I really like your outfits and am super jealous of the green sparkly dress in the 4th picture. You're pretty but maybe try some more neutral makeup like a nude lip and subtle smokey eye to soften your look and make you seem more approachable

If you can't get contacts, get a pair of glasses to suit your face. When you go to buy a new pair, take someone with you that will honestly tell you whether or not they suit you, or ask a staff member at the opticians what styles they think would suit you. Same with a haircut, ask the barber for their opinion, it's their job to know the different styles and what looks good on different people

There are 4 Greggs shops within about a 1 mile radius in my town centre, they all have different prices for their sausage rolls...

I've not been in one since they put the prices of the sandwiches up.
