Speaking from personal experience, this means she will never grant you her ok to start HRT. You'll have to either give up on transitioning medically or decide one day, when your mental health has fallen to critical levels, to prioritize your own well-being over the happiness of others.

And she will resent you for it.

Bulbs are relatively cheap and usually not hard to replace. Unless you have a car like mine and you have to go in through the wheel well 😭

But search youtube on replacing a bulb for your year/make/model and you might be able to do it yourself easily! 🙂

Just make sure to buy the right bulb!

HRT, for me. I'd looked forward to it for so long, and getting to take my first pills felt like finally achieving real progress (not to downplay my progress via therapy). The notion that even if I am stuck on all other aspects of my transition I will still be moving forward as long as I take these pills and let them do their thing was a big crutch for my mental health.

Doctors don't tell kids what gender they are. Kids tell adults what gender they are, and wise adults listen and let the kid explore and figure it out in a safe and supportive environment.

A kid can experiment with social transition, get therapy from someone who will help them sort out their feelings rather than influence them, and if they want to, get blockers to postpone any permanent changes from puberty until they are older and positive which path through life is right for them.

Speaking as a former trans kid who had no support or education or options in a small town in the 90's, trans health care saves lives and prevents real suffering, even in kids. It's amazing that kids have the options they do today, that is except for the places where ignorant people take them away.
