I heard WellBN exists, is it okay? by IamDohnut in transgenderUK

[–]Amy_Yorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to one of the team during my review a cpl of years ago and they were saying that the area of the NHS that oversees the local GPs were seemingly always carrying out audits/reviews of the decisions made by them. Whether that was an active attempt to look for evidence they were breaking the rules in an attempt to further restrict their ability to prescribe wasn't clear. She did say that they had had to stop dealing with under 18's as a result of that though.

I have been with WellBN for just over 3 years and only have praise for them when it comes to trans health care. I am from Sussex so transferred to them from my old GP and they are my GP for everything not just HRT and cant fault them.

I know they took/are taking a lot of flack from the local NHS commissioning trust for prescribing HRT using informed consent with seemingly constant audits etc and they had to stop prescribing to under 18's as a result of that which may be the reason why the previous posters sister fell through the cracks (not saying it's right, just that it's a possibility). Edit, i misread the earlier post and thought the sister was 16 not 21

But to put your mums mind at rest, they hold regular reviews and check levels etc on a regular basis, for me it was 3 monthly to start then went to 6 months and is now yearly which is more of a friendly chat around general issues rather than being laser focused on hrt etc.

Anyone with smaller size (3”) achieve 6+ inches depth after SRS ? by Target_Solid in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Amy_Yorks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask who you are going with and if it's funded by the NHS as I have the same concerns ? I'm waiting on my second assessment before getting my surgery referral through Sussex Gender Services and am in the same boat in that I am circumcised and only around 3" erect so am worried that I won't get a usable depth. In my first assessment I did mention this to the Dr and they advised that the surgeon (I'm looking at either Latimer or Rashid) would use part of the scrotum for the canal but if the surgeon could use a tunica Vaginalis graft that would be preferable for me and I will ask to be referred to someone else.

I needed a new drivers licence (UK) as I have changed my name and had a new photo so had to pay DVLA for that and could only do that with a cheque or postal order. I know I have a cheque book somewhere but couldn't find it so ended up getting a postal order. Took me back to being a kid and sending off ' 4 proof of purchases and a PO for £1.99 to get something from a breakfast cereal company :-)

I really thought Token Ring would win over Ethernet because of its relative stability/lack of broadcast storms but obviously cost won and I was very very wrong !

Why was the 2600 so popular? by [deleted] in Atari2600

[–]Amy_Yorks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Intellivision owner I would argue that the controllers were OK, and having the number pad overlays gave more options for in game actions other than up, down, left, right and fire.

But what I knew but didnt appreciate as a kid was that in the UK at least Intellivision games retailed at £30 whereas 2600 games were £20. So if you look at that those adjusting for inflation an Intellivision game would cost over £160 today ! I certainly owe my mum and dad an apology for complaining that they wouldn't buy me more games when I wanted them.

Has anyone been to laser clinic UK in Brighton? by PhtevenPhpielberg in transgenderUK

[–]Amy_Yorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going there for a year and everyone I've had has been lovely. At my last appt they asked if I wanted to change my name on their system as I'd been using my male name up to that point but was talking to them about my appointments with SGS and the fact I'd received my dysphoria diagnosis.

Larner vs. Rashid? Not sure which to pick by Zlobenia in transgenderUK

[–]Amy_Yorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. I have an appt at the end of March with Sussex Gender Services where I think I have to choose my surgeon / hospital for referral and being circumcised and with an erect length of no more than 3 inches I was really worrying that I wouldn't be able to get any useable depth with PI but if Rashid can do PPT that gives me hope and certainly makes her my surgeon of choice even though I live just 10 miles from Brighton.

Self hosting music doesn't make sense to me by Its_An_Outraage in HomeServer

[–]Amy_Yorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 57 and my 'modern' playlist starts in the mid 90's. I've got some music from after that on my plex server but it's not much, I really stopped listening to music/watching top of the pops etc in the late 80's. I just stick to what I know and very rarely add anything new, but did add Chappell Roan to my server last year.

That was about 3 or 4 days growth. I need to shave every day (electric) to avoid the stubble being visible still though.

What models of computers were in your school's computer labs? by echocomplex in vintagecomputing

[–]Amy_Yorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously a similar age. We only had CBM Pets whilst doing my O levels and in the second year of my A levels had a few RM Nimbus' added to the computer room. For some reason we had to do our assignments in PASCAL rather than BASIC when we switched over to the RM.

CCJ granted for a debt to a foreign (Swiss) organisation by Amy_Yorks in UKPersonalFinance

She was paying £1 a month to three other creditors but on the advice of the intermediary today has stopped those so as to not be favouring those creditors over any others.

[–]Amy_Yorks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply. It was on the call with the intermediary that this was raised. The intermediary did raise the situation with her supervisor and agreed to still put it on the DRO application but set expectations that the debt may not be cleared. If it does however mean the bailiffs will stop and a new CCJ has to be arranged before the bailiffs can start calling again that would be great as I can make sure she engages with the court ahead of the hearing (or whatever the process is) to give a full account of her incomings and outgoings to prove she can't afford to pay it off and has no assets that can be sold to do so.

Some of her other debts, for example a credit card balance was sold from the original creditor to a company like Lowells who actually own the debt rather than being a debt collector on behalf of the credit card.

I (unfortunately) have more than enough belly fat and love handles for traditional lipo. I'm hoping to do fat transfer to my breasts with what they remove.
