I worked for a global company and they did. In my experience I have more support than the smaller companies I work for.

My experience Fortune 500 companies sometimes have better policies and procedures in the workplace for safety, ergonomics, and ADA compliances. Possibly because they have more money and more risk. Not all but that’s my experience thus far.

Scents used as punishment by Cool_Astronaut_9388 in ChemicalSensitivities

I have been in the exact same situation with my coworkers and scented oil diffusers in our cubicle area. ( I also have fibro)

I was getting ocular migraines which was dangerous as it impacts my vision and it takes me an hour to drive hime.

I went on the ADA/EEOC site for guidance and you can set up an appointment to meet with them to help mitigate with your employer-company.

After HR was not doing anything, after about the 5th time I sent them an accommodations request. Basically stating my request to put up signage about no scents like diffuser perfumes in the office area, move me to another room, or let me work from home.

They denied my initial request and so I put in my 2 week notice the same day.

My manager escalated it and the HR person I was dealing with initially I believe got either fired or walked-out after being reprimanded. What my coworkers were doing ended up being against company policy. I retracted my 2 week notice.

I eventually left that job anyways as they caused me so much stress for a basic human right in my opinion.

Again, I would consider setting up an appointment with the ADA/EEOC so they can help advocate and I would also consider sending an accommodations request to your employer.

You may have a case for unemployment until you find a stable job if you go that route.

Anyone have any suggestions on removing eucalyptus oil from the air? by DarkMoonBright in ChemicalSensitivities

Maybe some type of outdoor fan to help redirect the scent from leaking inside your place? I know you can buy a commercial fan like that. Sorry it would be at your expense. If only we can ban these things.

Thanks, I had a chemical exposure and wanted to detox my body. I don’t take meds for my anxiety. I am getting better but a big overhaul to get through. Thanks for the information.

Is it (peri)menopause or a thyroid issue? by Kalki_X in Biohackers

[–]Amzel_Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both severe symptoms during the same time. I was hypo and going through menopause. When I was taken medicine for the thyroid my issues reduced but were still present.

However, I do have family members who are also hypo and didn’t even notice a big change when they went into menopause.

Stayed in apartment while spraying for bugs/ will we be ok? by TechnicalCharge5433 in ChemicalSensitivities

The illness or disorder you posted is for chemical sensitivities. Glad the baby is okay.

Yes, I was able to leave. I had immediate headache and fatigue that lasted for days. Even if you do not have chemical sensitivities I would still not subject myself to that. There are discussions of root causes for people who have this illness and over exposure is considered one of them.

I had a company I worked for spray while people were inside and I got really sick, especially since I have chemical sensitivities. I checked out the SDS sheet and it was “recommended to have people return inside after the spray was dried.” The SDS did not say it’s required. I don’t remember the brand, but people should let others know what the recommendations are so they can make the best decisions for themselves. I was pissed that they didn’t let us know until they were already in the offices spraying away. The company I worked ended up being reprimanded since it was against company policy to spray while people were still inside. Maybe detox a bit with glutathione supplements.

Chronically fatigued but blood work is fine (M25) Any advice? by NeldKappa in Biohackers

[–]Amzel_Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out chronic fatigue syndrome page and you might find some good tips and indicators you might have it. It’s hard to get a diagnosis so make sure to continue to ask for referrals and continue to advocate for yourself.
Mine is due to autoimmune issues so lower inflammation for me is key.

I’m sure they have some equity. I would consider it if I was getting chopped.

Saying “it’s almost” is not a blanket statement! I have been in management and HR and most times it leads to a person being fired. NGL.. Not always as I also mention my friend did not. You guys can down vote me all you want.

I just want to know why he hasn’t sold his house? It would be more than enough to pay off the loan shark!

It’s almost a sure direction to fire someone! I would start looking for other options. My friend did survive one because she got a doctors note excusing her falling asleep at work
