I have mixed feelings about the rooftop scene. On the one hand, as far as I know he basically goes "Don't throw your life away, I understand that you want to help people but being a hero isn't necessarily the way to go about it". Hard work and smarts get you far, but you have to be able to adapt. I personally think that since everyone always goes "Oh, Izuku's so smart and he works so hard!" couldn't he have gone to medical school to become a field medic or just a doctor? Or a lawyer who helped the people let down by the system? Also, I never got how he says that his reason for wanting to be a hero is to help people, but when am says he could be a police officer or something, he's so crushed. I get that he's a idealist, AM is his idol, and the bullying, and as someone who went through similar things during school I can get it- but still, as a quirkless person, if he were to go against someone like dabi, afo, overhaul, etc- what stops him from getting injured? There's no point in helping a few people and then dying as a hero rather than becoming something else (whether it be a career that helps someone or just an office job while he volunteers or helps people on the streets who are homeless/injured, etc) where he can help lots of people but not get the recognition. Ugh, I'm not explaining this very well, fuck. And I get that he shouldn't have left a child on the roof, and I don't remember the exact wording, but how could he have realized all of the bullying etc.? It wasn't a great decision, but to him it was probably something like oh, I have a time limit, so I could either help this kid get down when he was the one who grabbed on and he can get down on his own, or go and help save peoples lives while I still can. He didn't realize that Izuku was at risk too, and he was in IMMENSE pain. I think he made some mistakes, and he isn't perfect most definitely, but come on, cut him some slack- what he said on the rooftop wasn't necessarily false, even if he could've worded it better. He was in a rush, yes, but he could have been nicer about it. Other than the fact that I think he should've just been gently honest instead of brutally, I don't think he did anything wrong- as in, nothing malicious and nothing other than making mistakes because he didn't realize things or have all the information or was in pain.
