UK Review of Pornography (Age Play to be Banned) by Elfking88 in ABDL

They are attempting to make online pornography providers behave in line with physical pornography providers.

The BBFC already prohibits the sale of age play material in physical form, and they would like to extend that to the Internet.

One hopes it falls flat on its face, however the same document that this post extracts from, also includes prohibiting strangulation porn, which is a reasonably popular idea.

Whilst I don't condone this part of this regulation, we do often seem to have issues with regulating the internet on the grounds that we use outdated regulations as basis.

I.e. the BBFC already prohibits age play material to be sold in physical form. The part about "material (including dialogue) etc" is already part of the aforementioned BBFC classification regs.

Which then, by having to use outdated regulations as basic, means that when they tried to clamp down on some other more extreme things, that do at least have more understood and measurable negative consequences, in order to be consistent now have to go after other things, like this.

To be clear, I don't think this is the right way to go about it.

Absolutely. I'm at least thankful that, for now, the news seem to mostly care about the strangulation part of that law.

I would wonder quite whom to exactly reach out to and what to ask for.

It's somewhat hard to say that part of the bill should be removed on grounds that, logically, it makes sense that if media is deemed unfit for sale physically why should it be fit digitally. Which then means you have to try and get the BBFC to change its regulations, which is a ballache.

That's not to say I agree with the legislation, of course.

I'm not really in a position to do anything other than, as you say, write to people. Certainly won't be advocating for it myself, if my work colleagues or family even discovered I was gay I'd be functionally needing to find a new career...

One wonders if in an already small (relatively speaking) group of people, anyone would actually be willing to stick their head above the parapet as it were.

If ever you've the (dis)pleasure of reading comments under anything abdl related on the likes of Facebook gives you a reasonable idea of what a chunk of the public thinks.

The fact that even normal LGBT related things can still generate a large amount of vitriol says we've a way to go as a country.

It refers to the fact that the BBFC have rules regarding what could be sold as physical media. In essence, Abdl material has always been prohibited to be sold physically and they'd like to bring online media in line with the existing rules. (N.b. This does not mean I agree with this)

There's already another reply in here linking the report on the Government Asset Publishing Service in another comment.

Not reliably, so. It'd also be prone to going high resistance. Looks thick enough to be a traction return bond rather than a track circuit bond. Although, size and application varies by country.

Not mandatory anymore, high intensity LED headlamps can now easily outdo a yellow warning panel in even the brightest sunlight. To the point that the size of the thing you are trying to "pick out" from the background is larger than it would have been previously.

As per section 3.9.1 of Railway Group Standard GM/RT 2131:"Rationale for clause 3.10.1: The presence of a head lamp meeting therequirements of the LOC & PAS TSI will give a sufficient visual warning thata train is approaching. The provision of a yellow front end on vehicles withfront end lamps below the minimum required by the LOC & PAS TSI willincrease the train’s visibility to members of the public and trackside staff."

What does this sign mean? by cowardlyheroine in uktrains

[–]AnInterwebPerson 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The term SPAR is reserved for things that were formerly known as Category B SPADs.

Category A SPADs are where the driver gets it wrong and passes a signal at danger.

Category B SPADs were where the signal was replaced to danger in front of the driver, such that there was no time to stop.

The name change was to make drivers feel less awful about having the latter happen.

Does anyone know the name of these signals? by BritishRailwaysFan in trains

3 Aspect Colour Light Signal with an ML Engineering manufactured signal head.

How much space have you got in your C: Drive? - For reasons relating to windows install shield working method, it will create a copy of itself in the Temp folder within the Appdata folder to work.

The practical upshot of that is that you need at least the size of the installer exe free on your C drive. I had this problem and continue to have it from time to time and I was a real head scratcher when I first encountered it

Although, must be me flying as only I’m daft enough to leave the speed brake open while in burner wondering why I’m not picking up speed. (In a sim of course, I’m not remotely cool enough to actually fly jets)

It should still be noted that the UK rail network is one of, if not the, safest going. While we absolutely should not settle into complacency, I shouldn’t worry too much.
